  • ... my first step was to ask for back issues of statements, however this is my first stumbling block....they wanna charge me £5 per statement...
You cannot expect duplicate statements (why didn’t you keep them).

You can ask for the computer records the bank holds on you. Which, probably, will be a totally unsorted list of entries. You will have to plough your way through and work out what is what.

Hi, know that isnt right you need to send a data protectionact letter requesting your statements which carries a maximum fee of £10, for more info and the letter go to consumer corner;)

Really, cheers for that..now im obviously a begginer on here so before i go look for the consumer corner I just have one question really and that is can i only ask for statements going back so may years or could i request say the last 10 years worth, plus is there a set amount of time i can claim for, or could i actually claim for the past 10 years worth of charges.

    Once again many thanks.

  • Will the £10 fee cover all the cards issued by MBNA or do I have to send £10 for each card please?

They can expect duplicate statements 90% of responses to the dpa request are to supply these, currently only Abbey refuse 6 years worth of statements but still supply the last 2 and then the rest are via a print out. Even then the OFT have been to Abbey to attempt to sort this out.

£10 will cover all info that the bank has on you so if all the cards are in your name with the same bank then yes ;)

    Hi
Sent off 1st letter to my local branch of natwest- heard nothing after 14 days- posted second letter on 26th sept, sent both registered mael- and now a week after 2nd letter being posted STILL not even had a acknowledgement from them!!!
Should I of sent letters to head office? rather than local branch where we hold our account??
Getting very frustrated with it all

Hi, local branch is fine. they do ignore the letters sometimes, just stick to your timetable, and issue a court claim against them when the time runs out. ;)
