Princessa wrote:Hi! I posted the above quote on the 1st August when I got that letter. I've moved house and for various reasons I haven't replied to them and missed the 8 weeks they gave me to reply. Can I still send the second letter, or do II have to start again with the first? Or have I missed out completely?
hi, no its your timetable. you can start it all up again if you wish by sending them a letter before action now. there is one at consumer corner0 -

Hi all.
A little advice please.
I'm currently claiming £3650 worth of charges from HSBC.
We are approx £1200 into our overdraft facility.
Settlement figure on HSBC loan is approx £1200.
& HSBC credit card approx £1500 ( I know, shouldn't put all eggs in one basket )
Can HSBC use the charges refund to clear some debt's or do they have to pay us the money by way of a cheque? ( then expect us to pay...ha...ha ):T

hi if they pay up on the letter then they can just put it in your account if it is after the court processhas started then by cheque, allthough they have still been know to pay into account, then its hard work getting them to change that as they have officially paid you.0 -
Go to the library and look at the letters that request copy statements. For £10.00 they have to supply you with copies of your statements. it has taken me 6 months to get all the statments and phone calls, Just go straight for the throat, take no survivors, they will waste your time and string it out. Just send the 14 day letter, then straight to court if the say no.0

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of claiming back charges on credit cards where the balance has already paid off?
I have an MBNA card where i have had lots of late payment charges. I recently transferred the majority of the balance to a 0% card but still have about £25 remaining on the MBNA one. I was going to pay this off in one go, however not sure if it would be worth just paying the minimum and clearing it over a few months, whilst i claim back my charges, so the account still looks active.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks,

hi, it doesnt matter whether the account is open or closed, active or otherwise. for the point of paying extra interest even though its a small amount it woulld be better paid off. you can read more about it at consumer corner.0 -

they do not have to supply copy statements, they do have to supply a list of charges.0 -
I have been getting unfairly charged by my bank for years...I read the article on this site and decided to do something about it... my first step was to ask for back issues of statements, however this is my first stumbling block....they wanna charge me £5 per statement... is this fair/legal as it will cost hundreds of pounds before i even start.....looks like this bank has won before i even start.
Any help or advise would be most welcome
Thanks
