markluke wrote:Hello everyone,
I hope I've posted this in the area.
I have sent the DPA letter to barclaycard, and they sent me statements from May 2004.
But before that it is going to cost me £3 a statement. They sent a letter with my statements, saying that the statemetns are on microfiche in date order and more than one customer could be on them and these are not "readily accessible" within the meaning of Data Protection Act.
For my two credit cards that I had it will cost me £240, which I really afford. Would I be able to claim this back if this is the only way.
Please help as I want to get all of the money back from the Bank.
Thanks

Hiya, yep i have won against capital one, not a big one but a win nevertheless, they are no different to anyone else they will pay up, but offer you difference between the charge and £12 first, which you will reject;)

If you sign up to the forums at https://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk you'll find boards for each main bank and one is called Other Institutions with a sub forum for Capital One

they are likely to offer me 8.00 back from all the 20.00 charges i.e. 24.00 instead of 60.00 ?
Then I go back and say no I want it all back ?:D0 -

If I have to put money in my bank not electronically, I cannot do it as they have no branches in which you can do it. I cannot open a bank account as my credit score is very low. HELP!
Alternatively open a Basic Bank Account. Most (all???) banks offer them- you wont need to be credit checked for that.God save the King!
I'll save Winston Churchill, Jane Austen, J. M. W. Turner and Alan Turing.0 -
Hi all.
I know this may sound like a silly question but when giving the banks 14 days to respond to claim request, does this mean 14 straight days from the day they recieve the letter ( 2 days after posting ) or 14 WORKING DAYS? ( NOT INC SAT OR SUN )
Bit eager to send LBA
Cheers:T

hiya.
Little advice needed. just completed the calc spreadsheet for claim - total £4624.17. ( The royal bank of scotland )
Is it true that I could claim back the interest they have taken on my overdraft?
If so, this could take the final figure above 5k.
mmmmmmm.....:T
