  • Hi

I think it's from the date you submit - although it's slightly different in Scotland so I could be wrong.
Good luck though, I got back all my money from two different banks so it's well worth doing.
    Bank of Mum £10,786.00
Barclaycard £2,527.00 (£1,000 saved to pay off)
    Overdraft £750.00
    Total £14.063

RBS have not defended my claim so I asked for judgement to be entered against them. What happens now

is the 28 day period for defence through moneyclaim from the date you submit, they reply to defend or indeed they reply with their defence? Does moneyclaim default to act in your favour outside these dates or do you have to ask for thr judgement to be entered against them?

hi its from the day you submit plus 5 days to being deemed served so 33 days from issue date. more info at https://www.!!!!!!.uk/forum
  • Hi

This is my first time on the site and after reading all the posts I have I plucked up the courage to get my charges refunded by HSBC

I have read many posts but am still unsure on how to claim.

Is the amount you claim for the amount of whole fee charged or the fee - £12(the rate of fees recommended by the OFT)?

    Thanks

Hi all, great thread but I didnt manage to read through all 100 pages, so apologies if this has been asked before!

I went into my local branch of Halifax and asked for the last 6 years statement, to which the guy at the counter laughed and told me that it would cost £5 PER statement (£360) in total! Just wanted to make sure that this isnt correct so I can return there tomorrow and (smugly, sp?) correct him.

    Thanks

We wrote a letter to Halifax, they took 30 days to reply, and asked us to send them a cheqyue for £5 to send us the details of the charges that had been applied to the account.

It was £5 for all the info over the last 6 years, not £5 for each statement. I have read in other posts that often banks try this, in the hope that it puts you off!

See the other thread that i posted in this forum, that gave a template of the letter that i sent.
  • Hello everyone,

I hope I've posted this in the area.
I have sent the DPA letter to barclaycard, and they sent me statements from May 2004.
But before that it is going to cost me £3 a statement. They sent a letter with my statements, saying that the statemetns are on microfiche in date order and more than one customer could be on them and these are not "readily accessible" within the meaning of Data Protection Act.

For my two credit cards that I had it will cost me £240, which I really afford. Would I be able to claim this back if this is the only way.

Please help as I want to get all of the money back from the Bank.
    Thanks
  • I am just sending them a request to refund me 60.00 and OH 180.00 but letter has to be sent back to their legal dept (sounds scarey ! ) anyway gonna go for it but was wondering if anyones been successful with them so far - letter going off to HSBC tomorrow for 2,345.00   I never realised it was that much until I added it up waiting on a response from Mint and Monument - will keep you posted if I have any luck ;)
