Hi, my first ever forum!
Could anyone offer any advice concerning reclaiming charges whilst being overdrawn?
As I bank with the A & L, who seem to be the worst of a very bad bunch! What's the prospect of them closing the account and demanding immediate repayment of monies owed?
I have set up another account but having just graduated, as a mature student, I am desparately trying to avoid, probably can't!?, borrowing any more money. Consequently if they demand repayment I am not in a strong position.
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks in anticipation.:question:0 -
Hi there,
I wrote to my bank the Halifax a month ago to claim back £314 in charges, they sent me a letter offering me £40, I sent them the next letter saying thanks but no, I received a letter on Friday offering £118, stating that this was six months worth of charges as a full and final settlement.
The letter then goes on that if it is not the response I was hoping for, to comply with legislation, that if I remain unhappy I can refer my concerns to the Financial Ombudsman etc etc...
Anyway, I was just wondering if I should just take this offer and what everyone else has done. Any Advice would be apprieciated Thanx Karen:jWaiting for the comping fairy to arrive, a big thank you to all that post comps:j0 -

Hi, start your claim is the simple answer. if they do close your account or recall your overdraft all you would need to do is offerthem a repayment that you can comfortably afford, all the letters you need are at https://www.!!!!!!.uk/forum0 -
