Good Afternoon!
I just wondered who I address my letters to at Natwest? im about to write the first letter.
Is it the manager of my branch or do I find the name of someone at head office?
Also is it best to send special delivery?
I asked my bank for a list of my charges by phone and they said its not possible but they could send my statement for the last 8 years (how long ive had my account) for a fee of £5. The lady on the phone also complined about three times that its a lot of hassle and do I really need it!!!
Cheers for your help.

Also when claiming all the charges do you claim interest from when you incurred the charge of 8% or do you claim interest of what you are claiming for and from the date you claim?0

hi send the letter from https://www.!!!!!!.uk/forum this gives them more of an ultimatum. you only need 6 years of statements and do this with the dpa request get everything in writing, and yes send it recorded delivery, or better stil at your local branch with £10 cash. the 8% interest does not go on until court stages0 -

sorry my fault that onethe £10 was the maximum fee for statements. make sure you chase them up by phone and letter. they have 40 days to send them. there is no fee for the next letter.

Ok i think I understand pretty much everything now and am ready to take on the mighty Natwest.
One last thing if I do need to lodge a claim against them is the interest from when i claimed or from when the charge was incurred?
many thanks! ill leave you alone now!!0 -

Thanks for the reply Shaun. Would this happen automatically or would the money be sent to me first? Also if it has been decided that these charges have been unfair all along, could the banks not be held responsible for people who have had to enter into trust deeds or other debt re-payment schemes.0 -

the cheque will come to you, but you are supposed to tell them of any windfalls, they could be held responsible but it would take some proving;)0 -

Nationwide believe it is open and transparent about charges and menbers are pre-notified prior to charges being debited via there monthly statements. and that if i was'nt satisfied then i could always consider alternative banking. They have given me 56 days to come back to them if i am not satisfied with there option. WHAT SHOULD I DO?? PLEASE ADVICE THANKS.
Easy. If you dont like the terms and conditions of an account, dont open it.0
