This is my first thread although i've been following Martins advise for months, I have finally plucked up the courage to try and reclaim some fortune the Halifax have robbed off me and have met a dead end straight away, I cannot register properly on the consumer action group website, I have tried with both my Aol and Hotmail accounts but never receive a activation email from them, I can't read forums or enter the libaries but my iser name etc has gone through, has anyone else had the same problem and how can i resolve it as their helpdesk are not answering my emails.
Thankyou

Hi,
My first post here! I want to claim back unfair charges from Natwest, based on the following from their rates and fees, what can I claim back? I believe it is all of them, but can someone please confirm?
Unarranged borrowing fee £28
Unauthorised transactions - unpaid £38 per item
Unauthorised transactions - card misuse £35 per item
Paid referral £30 ( max £90 in a calendar month )
Default Notice £30
Thanks in advance, ill keep you posted on how I get on!0 -
I have followed your advice for getting back my bank charges with both my banks. Halifax have repaid my full charges, interest and court costs. I am now having problems with NatWest, I have put them in court and they have now filled a defence and requested loads of info. I have completed the court questionnaire and am preparing the info they want. Basically they want me to admit that I have been charged because I breached my contract with the bank and to explain where the law states that the amounts charged are unlawful.
If anyone can help at all please get in touch. Thanks Ang0 -
Keep going through the steps on this web site for Halifax. I put them in court and they repaid me my charges, interest and court costs! GO GET THEM!0

I only filed for unauthorised transactions and unarranged borrowing fees, that worked. Don't know about the rest...0 -
I've posted on the CAG board but thought I'd try here as well.
Trying to claim on a Natwest account that was closed 2002-2003. Have requested statments from Natwest but have stated that I do not know the account number as I destroyed all the statments (didn't have room to store them and I know now I should have kept them). I have provided them with all my details and given them the name of the branch where it was opened, the approximate date it was opened and when it was closed.
Have had a letter back this morning saying that I must understand that they have no way of locating closed accounts without an account number and that it would be impossible to locate my account with the details provided.
I was under the impression that they had to keep records for 6 years. Am I being fobbed off by them?
Thanks in advance.April £5 a day challenge- £15.05/£1500 -
anyone's advice would be greatly appeciated! i've just recieved a letter from first direct saying that i have gone 11p over my overdraft limit and so have incurred a charge of £30!! i don't feel this is very fair! i phoned and got passed from person to person and listened to their rubbish music and when i explained the situation was told that there was no way around paying the fine and it would still have to be paid and within the next seven days! i even explained that i was a student and the reason money didn't go into the acount regularly was due to the fact that the student loan is only paid at 3 points in the year to which i was told that they don't deal with student accounts and that they would suggest that i get a student account!! so now i don't know what to do. does anyone know if there's any way of appealing against the fine. £30 is alot of money to me especially as a student moving into a flat in the next few weeks!0

PLESE HELP!!!!
Nat West are defending the claim for repayment of charges. They are going down the line of the charges are for an extra service and therefore not a penalty, and thus legally enforceable.
Please can some one give me some tips as to how to proceed with this? I have got to send them more info by 21st July and am now starting to panic abit! I can not let them get away with it.
Please help. Thanks Ang0
