Thanks Revered_Darkman and Plutos. I've gone onto the CAG site and registered and got the basics but he devil is in the detail. I would need to request statements detailing charges to start I think and then go through them - and then presumably have the shock of seeing how much of my money I have kindly donated to the banks.
Have you been through the process?0 -

Well I managed to get all my charges from the online statements at hsbc.co.uk - I presume you can do the same if you have internet banking - it was daunting, but six years worth of charges took me about an hour and a half to reconcile and have just been offered them back :-)
I have just sent off the request for another two - Northern Rock and AIX Recovery but those two are still within their 40 days to reply at the moment.0 -
How did you do it through internet banking? Did you just enter the details onto a spreadsheet and send this off with your letter? I had online banking at HSBC but have since closed the account so not sure if I will still have access to the account that way. Congrats BTW on getting them back!
I am still right at the very beginning but have been on the CAG site getting all the details and browsing their FAQ section. I think I can reclaim charges on about 6/7 different accounts/CCs etc..... so am just wondering whether to go for it all at once as some have done or try 1/2 to begin with and then work my way through the list.
Good luck with yours - you seem to have started well anyway!0 -

My Account is still open so still had access to online banking. Just get that letter posted and you'll soon be on your way! :-)0 -
Hi,
Just a quick question. I handed all the paperwork into court on 6th July but not heard anything yet and its now the 17th, can anyone tell me when I can expect to hear from them? Thank You.0 -
My girlfriend was charged £30.13 by Lloyds for going over her overdraft limit for less than 24hrs. Couple of Q's:
1) Is it worth bothering over this £30? Or should we just let it go?
2) We know the date/time of the claim - am i right in thinking we wont need to pay the £10 Dataprotection fee because we dont need a summary?
3) Can I just jump straight to "stage 2" i.e. the "you charged us this, we want it back" letter?
ThanksNice to save.0 -

I got a reply within 3 days from HSBC asking for a full breakdown of charges, they may just ignore it however and you win by default!0 -
Just wanted say thank you to Reverend_Darkman for the support!0

You know the date of the claim, so ask for it back.
As to whether or not you should claim it back - up to you. I'd be inclined to go after it in the same way I'd prosecute a thief who stole my wallet, even if there were 'only' £30 in it!0
