Dora, please read my post. BS posted a link to an Ebay auction and stated that her ex was the winning bidder. She then posted to say that someone had contacted her ex and told him about the posts she had made in DT.

BS can only have known this had happened if her ex contacted her.

edited to add that BS then edited out the contents of two of her posts. I saw the posts before she edited.
Also someone e-mailing b-s ex would NOT know her address to give out. The only way this can happen is if someone has recognised her from her posts, known her address anyway (or recognised her kitchen and her address from that- as per a previous post of mine) and gives that info to her ex.
Hubby initially registered me here so not totally sure but I think you just give your e-mail address not your home. If anyone is worried though, what about asking on questions about this site thread.

All we are asked for to register is an email address. Nobody is asked for any other personal details to do so. Nobody, not the Forum Team or the Board Guides, have any information about you at all.

Further details that you might choose to place in your public profile are entirely up to you.

This is a public open forum - anybody from anywhere can read the contents of your posts - in fact, although they are a little way behind, many posts show up on google.

The only way another person can recognise you on MSE is from whatever personal information about yourself that YOU post.

If you wouldn't be prepared to stand in the middle of your local high street and tell anybody who is passing some personal detail of yourself - then you shouldn't be saying it here either. Full stop.

I know you all feel that you are talking between friends here - but you're actually writing it in a public place where any passing stranger can read it. That is why we have rules about not posting personal details on the open forums. Any time we see it we ask the poster to remove them and point them at the rules.

QUOTE=larmy16][It seems to be a moot point whether this thread contained negative comments towards BS, however I have followed some other threads she has contributed to and have definitely detected some hostility which has made for very uncomfortable reading.]

I MOST DEFINATELY AGREE WITH THAT.

i'm going to avoid the quagmire above and say THANK YOU to BS for the recipe for the chocolate mousse and the PM on advice because i'm daft and bought double cream by mistake. had people over for dinner last night and 2 of them asked for the recipe (after first asking where we'd bought them from :D:D:D). they didn't believe that it was that simple and i was accused of being 'one of those competitive cooks who leaves out the magic ingredient' :rotfl: :rotfl:

so it went down a storm (and i had a couple extra so have just had one now as a snack before dinner - and i don't feel the tiniest bit guilty!) - thank you!

You're missing the square brackets [ and ] in places.

The best way to quote is to use the quote button at the bottom right of the post you want to reply to.

This will place it in the text area of the reply page.

If you want to trim the quote to just the bit you want to reply to then you need to be careful not to remove any of the brackets.

So a quoted post should look something like the text below (without the added spaces which I've put in to stop it from turning into an actual quote)...

    [ QUOTE=somebody] This is a quote [ /QUOTE]

Alternatively you can cut and paste the text you wish to quote and with it still highlighted on your page click on the little page with text icon thingy which will make the QUOTE for you.

Did you make it with double cream melancholly? I used a third double cream and two thirds single when I tried it as BS mentioned it was a bit runny(if memory serves). It was lovely this way,I whipped the double cream, then stirred in the single cream and melted choc,it set nice and firm.

I've got some peppermint essence and think I'll try adding a bit of that next time.

Thanks again to Black Saturn for her recipes,I sincerely hope things don't get difficult for you and your kids.

If you click on someones profile they may say what area they live in. Probably not a good idea if they're trying to keep a low profile.

i used the double cream - it was very rich, you wouldn't want a big serving, but tasted fab! it set really well in the fridge. i just whisked the double cream a lot while it was heating which got a bit of air into it, but it wasn't 'whipped' really. i will be making again!
