BS have you got any more easy and cheap recipes for puddings or main meal0 -
BS . Have just found this post and its wonderful - keep up the good work. You are offering your ideas for meals on your budget and people should respect that. It is after all choice whether they want to cook it or eat it - you don't forcefeed them. Keep it up girl :j0

BS - I just want to say Thanks for posting your menu, and making me think a bit more about the amount I waste on food. I even took delivery of a slow cooker this week!0

Just tried the malt-loaf, I made it with granulated sweetener instead of sugar and it's got a big thumbs-up from OH, I think it'll all be eaten tonight!
I'm going to try the strawberry mousse tomorrow using sugar-free jelly crystals, if it works that's 2 more "diabetic friendly" puddings to add to the sugar-free cobbler.
Thanks again Black-Saturn!Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I hope to try some of these recipes out. can I ask a few questions - i think one was already asked but I can't find it - Can't believe how many pages this thread has grown to!!
Roughly how many ounces is in a cup - what sort of cup - a mug, beaker - i have a few all of varying sizes!
I have a tin of blackcurrants in the cupboard that I bought by mistake and didn't know what to do with them - could I use them?
and finally I want to make it for dessert for Sunday ( i go to my parents each week and I bring the dessert). Should I cook it before I go and reheat it, or would it be best to bring it raw and cook there?
Sorry for all the questions! And thanks for a great thread black Saturn! !0 -
When I say cup I mean a coffee mug but it doesnt matter as long as you do all the ingredients in equal amounts. You could use a bucket if you wanted to
You can use any kind of fruit but if it's tinned you need to drain the juice off first.
It will taste best cooked fresh but you can cook it beforehand and reheat it in the microwave. I usually cook a huge one and serve the same one 2 days running.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

Fruit cobbler and malt loaf were made yesterday and both went down so well except for dh's comment that 'we don't normally have a pudding and aren't you supposed to be on a diet??!!!!!!'0
