morning! quick hi to twinkles - one of my best friends has lived with fybromyalgia (sp?) for years, she has better times and not so good times, but has learned to know the signals for when things are getting worse so that she can take preventative action. i don't know if it's the same for everyone, but she needs to keep fairly active (not heavy duty gym sessions necessarily, but keeping fit...) which seems to help. it helps that her GP is very clued up on it, because it seems to be one of those things that most people haven't even heard of. good luck xxx

Angelic, Maisie and Terri - thanks for the commiserations about the car. It's about 8 years old and a few things have gone wrong with it, I think it was the front springs, the front drive shaft and the exhaust, plus they then found that the brake hose vacuum ( I think?!) was done for as well! We have been given a bit of a reduction as the garage is owned by a friend of a friend.

My OH says not to panic about it as he is ebaying a few hard disks and things that he thinks will make about £400. But I wish we could use the £400 for something else! Plus we have the car tax to pay for at the end of the month. Why are cars such endless money pits?

Anyway, my pad for today is £3.13, I'm waiting on a cheque clearing so I can pad that as well. Also banked my spare change towards the Cat Lair today but it's not showing up in my account yet!
Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.

I have paid off 2 CC whose 0% deals were finishing this month so I or rather OH is divorced from Tesco and Capital One. I have also filled the car fund budget (still not bought but I am sure it is getting closer if only I could use the money on the debts:mad:).
So my sig is updated and looking good but it is rather misleading as paying off the 0% cards has left me short until next pay day in 2 months and 20 days time (not counting or anything:D) so I may have to take out another 0% deal causing me to go backwards. The thinking is pay it off now, work like stink to make extra money and when/if I need to take a new deal it will be for a lesser amount.

My PAD is £7.08 towards saving to pay off HSBC Card which is my next 0% card due to expire in October I think. (Although because of the above I may have to borrow it back before pay day so not sure if that is cheating:confused:)

What have i missed? Who says that PaD is pointless?

In my case it has been a lifesaver. Through PaD i have paid more than £7300 off my tax arrears this way and got ahead with the VAT.

    Pointless...My ar*e!!!!!!!

Talking of which, my PaD to the HMRC = £100.

  • Hi everyone, luffly sunny day here in Manchester

Just a little, although definitely NOT pointless 20p!:p

T mobile are driving me crazy, still waiting on a refund of £29.35 for a mobile broadband dongle that I sent back and as I used my CC to pay for it I decided to clear the card all except the £29.35 so that when I got the refund I could close it, well now the bill has come in and the interest is a couple of quid but as the min is £5 im now gonna hopefully get the refund then have to have CC refund me before I can close it.How frustrating

Hmmmm its not increasing font size or colour :o so sorry Terri!!

    Love and hugs
