This sounds like an excellent idea. When is asda yesterday, I noticed they had a huge traditional indian section with various powders/ingredients etc for you to make indian food from scratch.
Good luck for that loss, you are quite a focussed person, so I know you will manageangie_loves_veg wrote: »Hi all
Theme week
This week will be - Indian week
I have done this before, but it gives me a chance to use my cook books (250+ of them ) focus on a theme to have the opportunity to try the more unusual, or less obvious recipes ...
It isn't going to be traditional 'curry and rice' though (although, maybe for one night..) instead, using traditional recipes, many with an international twist, and delving into some of the more obscure regional variations - whilst staying 100% on plan, with the aim of losing a lb or two by the end of the week ...0 -
i remember trying to find it in the directory and online a wee while ago, but with no luck.
I have the 50g sachets and it works out (using calculator) at 15 syns on both days for that little sachet :eek:This food directory is enough to drive you mad.....
Anyone know which section to look in for Pataks Creamed Coconut?
Ta.

Try using the blue dragon light coconut milk (400 mls, there are also 165 ml cans), IIRC they are 20.5 syns on both days, so you can split the milk up over 2 or 3 recipes0

Hya, just popping in to say hello and share my free treat! I have just had the most gorgeous Danone Lasting Satisfaction yoghurt - I popped it into the freezer two hours ago and it was like a luscious ice cream. Yummy:hello:0

Hi there, I missed WI yesterday as I was travelling home after the weekend, but I will go on Wednesday. I had a disastrous weekend foodwise, staying in a house full of puddings, icecream, biscuits cake and chocolate. I am back in control now and all set for a loss (next Monday, ha ha!)
I had a nice tea. It fits in well with Angie’s Indian theme week as well! It’s based on the Red Split Lentils Cooked in a Pan recipe on the Good Food website.
Serves 2 (generously), free on green
125g mung beans (can soak these and boil them or just use a tin (235g drained) like I do)
125g red split lentils, washed
1 tsp turmeric
Frylight
1 onion, chopped very finely
1 garlic clove, chopped very finely
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tsp grated root ginger (I put a bit more in as I like ginger)
1 green chilli, finely chopped
½ tsp garam masala
A handful of coriander, chopped very finely
2 red chillies
Serve with rice- Put the mung beans and lentils in a large saucepan and ¾ fill with boiling water. Season and bring to the boil then reduce the heat to a simmer. Using a slotted spoon, skim any scum off the surface.
- Add the turmeric and stir well. Partly cover and simmer for about 30 minutes until tender, adding more boiling water if it starts to become too dry – it should be even-textured.
- Spray a frying pan with frylight and add the onion. After about a minute, add the garlic. (I use a lid on the pan, and maybe a splash of water to stop it burning.) When lightly golden add the tomato, ginger and chilli. Fry until it is a shiny, dry paste. Pour into the pan with the dhal (lentil mixture) and mix well. Stir in the garam masala. Top with coriander and red chillies.

Evening,
had a lovely free barbeque but couldn't eat all the potatoes in the HEB - 200g of new potatoes is an awful lot I think. I had a bit of mozzarella with a tsp of oil but amazingly I still have about 5 sins left for today - maybe a bit of easter chocolate will hit the spot!
Must try the frozen yoghurt idea - thanks k66. My best bet here is the weight watchers range as they work out at only half a sin each and they are pretty tasty.
Am going to spend the next half an hour planning the next couple of days food...Saving to pay the tax man0 -

The Shape Lasting satisfaction are really creamy, really fruity, damned well gorgeous and FREE!
I can't bear the Weight Watchers ones - far too watery, nothing like a yogurt!0 -
Hi everyone! I am joining in. Back to class today and after getting to target a year ago (still going to class as well) I have gained a stone. So gutted. Trying out the extra easy plan this week. Any tips? Does it really work? Making sure I write everything down.
Love the idea of the shape yoghurt in the freezer!! Free and cheaper than Skinny Cow icecreams!0
