I needs some help. Tomorrow evening I have my ladies coming over for a meal. I was planning a lovely buffet style menu that would all be free on an EE day. I have thought about the following but wonered if anyone else has any ideas.
Thanks, Ging x
ham slices
egg halves - any ideas how I keep these looking fresh and not going grey?
smoked salmon
prawns
cold batchelors savoury rice
jacket potatoes
salad
beetroot
pickled onions
carrot/cucumber sticks/cherry tomatoes
mullerlights
fruit
Mmmm! Can I come?
I think the trick with the eggs is to cool them down thoroughly. When I'm doing lots I put them in a big mixing bowl full of cold water with some ice cubes or freezer pack thingys (that you use to keep your ice box cool).
How about making some dips with quark/ plain yoghurt or something? Anyone got any recipes?0 -
Just thought of another one I like as well - not totally totally free but syns would be minimal. A bit of red or green pesto stirred into some cooked pasta. I think Sacla tomato pesto is the lowest in syns, if I remember correctly.0

... it should go without saying that I think you are doing fantastically. :T:T
I think perhaps, by not attending a group, you will not always see peoples 'gain' days - this forum is online, and whilst most people will share the losses, some people will not choose to share the gains. In a class situation, you quickly realise that for the people losing 3 - 4lb weekly, there are many losing 1/2 or 1 or staying the same.
Please don't have any sense of being disheartened - you are doing brilliantly - even more so given that you do not have the support of a 'real life group'
Thank you so much what a lovely reply.
I am really pleased with my loss cant wait to get to my first stone...I have about 3 1/2 stone to lose...0 -

to stop my eggs going grey when they are finished cooking I fill the pan with cold water and keep the tap running until the water stays cold and then leave the eggs until they are cold.0 -
Only a small half a pound, but better than the alternatives. I keep reading for inspiration, although don't have time to post often. Keep up the good work. Love and hugs to all.

In the long run it doesn't matter about the lbs per week as long as the general direction is downwards! I think you've done really well Penny35 - :T
I also have about another 3.5 - 4 stone to lose. That seems like such a lot, so I am aiming for half stones, and getting below the next 'stone marker', if that makes sense.
Just come back from Folk Club (yes I know, but I don't wear an aran sweater, or put my finger in my ear when I'm singing) and I managed to avoid a) alcohol and b) crisps.0 -
Morning all...
Well done jujudrops - as you say half a pound is better than nothing and it's the equivalent to a pat of butter coming off.
penny, I am also a body optimise user and I have only just started exploring the site. I noticed that they have a lot of ideas for exercise and 'body magic'. have you thought about building up the amount of exercise you do? I've tried doing some more walking now the weather is better and I think it has made a difference and mentally it picks you up too.
today I am going for red, though I am happy for it to turn into EE as the day goes along and syn my milk.
B: frylight fried eggs with ham and brown sauce (2 sins)
L: salad, mozarella (HEA), random crudites and pineappleprobably a BBQ/grill or maybe gammon? veg, potatoes (HEB)
Also milk (HEA) ans some syns will go on oil for my salad dressing (can't stand the low fat stuff)
I have mince to make meatballs for the children so might turn that into a kofta type thing for us.
Snacks are banana and yogurt.
Last night I did have a glass of wine extra so I had about 17 sins.
Nughtily I got on the scales this morning between weigh ins and it looked good so I feel very positiveSaving to pay the tax man0 -
