Remember Pete - 'nothing tastes as good as being slim feels!!!'0

I have been dabbling at the SW plan over the last 3 weeks but i haven't been doing very well. Mostly because I keep cheating!! I think what I really need is to go to a group for the extra motivation but I feel very embarrassed about it.
I am within healthy BMI and only want to lose about 5-7 pounds. I suppose it feels a bit vain and silly to go to club with such a small target and I feel the other members will judge me. Do clubs have people like me join? Am I being silly?
You have to need to lose at least 7lbs before you can join a group. If you appear underweight the Consultant may not let you join, why not give her a ring before-hand and see what she says.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Hi everyone , I have just found this slimming world recipe but am having trouble finding out the syn value .
4 oz All Bran ?
2 eggs
1 oz cocoa ?
sweetner
250 mls boiling water
mixed all together and microwave for 6 mins .
In my old book it only gives syn value in 28g , and I am useless at math.
Any help please.
You're allowed 42gms All Bran as a HEB so the 4oz is around 3 HEBs worth or 4 syns per 28gms. Cocoa is 4½ syns per 28gms and the rest is syn-free.
So the whole cake would be 18½ syns or you could use it over 3 days (or share among 3 people) and make it 1 HEB + 1½ syns per portion.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hi Consultant - I was quite interested in what you said here - hope you don't mind me asking you more!I'm in the same position as the_cat, although only because I've been following Slimming World on and off by myself for the last year or so and have lost the rest myself. I was considering going back to a class, as this last 1/2 stone just doesn't want to shift itself.
I just wondered though, how would your consultant decide you hadn't enough weight to lose? I've heard with other classes that the group leader sets your target for you, but obviously with Slimming World you set your own, so I just wondered what parameters you use to decide whether someone is a healthy weight?
If I'd to lose another 7lbs, I'd still be within my healthy BMI, but at the very bottom end - would that still be considered ok for me to join?
Thanks

made the all bran cake thing ,
Its puffs up in the microwave like a chocolate sponge , tastes really nice and a small bit is so filling .Kindness costs nothing0 -
Right I have a dilemma...
I have quite a lot of non slimming world type foods in the house. Should I use them all up, and then start on the plan?? OR Should I just keep them and use them up bit by bit, counting the syns as I go??
What do you think?

Crap_with_money.com - you're obviously not crap with slimming though :rotfl:
Well done on your weight loss, I hope you're very proud of yourself, it's a great achievement. If you have a look in the Food Optimising book (if you have an older one) or the Choose Success booklet if it's a new pack, you will see the weight range chart. I use this to tell a member if she's already underweight.
If you will fall into the white zone (underweight) by losing the extra 7lbs you shouldn't be allowed to join (this is SWs rule).
If you are above that, ie. in the yellow zone you'll be fine! Good luck getting to your ultimate target and a big pat on the back from me
Redmel - if your head is in the right place now and you feel committed to the plan, don't put it off. Use up the foods over a period of time and count the syns as and when you use them.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Well done Crap_with_money.com, both for the weight loss and for putting it so much better than me!!
Like you I lost weight before (only with WW) and kept most of it off. 2 years later and it's very slowly creeping on again so I want to get on top of it before it gets more serious. I prefer the idea of SW so need to register and get the proper plan - I have tried to follow it on here but keep coming up against unknown syn values etc. Like you I would still be within the healthy BMI range albeit the lower end, so looks like we are OK!!
Good luck0 -

Thanks very much!I haven't lost that much really though, only 21lbs in total - and it's taken me a year to do it! Although, to be fair I'm still pretty chuffed with myself!
I'm 5'7", and weigh dead on 10 stone (A new low as of this week) - so if I got down to 9 stone 7 there's no way I'd be under weight!!
Unfortunately I like my food too much for that to ever be an issue!
I'll have a look later at my book though - thanks very much for that!

Well done to you too The_Cat :T You're quite right to get it back under control now before it gets out of hand! Although, since you've done it before - I'm sure you'll shift it in no time!
