    Right I have a dilemma...

I have quite a lot of non slimming world type foods in the house. Should I use them all up, and then start on the plan?? OR Should I just keep them and use them up bit by bit, counting the syns as I go??

    What do you think?

    Mel x

I'd use them up as you go and just count the syns - it'll only be a wee bit extra weight you'll need to shift by the time you get started if you make your way through it all at once before you get started! :D

Hi all! I managed to STS this week, which I was happy with, what with easter eggs and a meal out etc. I've got to press on though as our summer holiday will be twelve weeks away come Sunday and I've got to be at Target by then! Why is the last bit so much harder to shift?

You are not wrong Cuffey. I couldn't figure out why my trousers legs have started to hit the ground and get torn like a teenager's and then I realised that there was less thigh taking up the slack. So I headed for my designer outlet this afternoon to get a new tailor made pair. £6 from Asda, sorted and now into 34s...woohoo!

Well I am quite proud of myself today (in a weird kind of way :p) I have had a terrible day, my mother and sister have both been really unkind to me and i have been really upset. But normally when things like that happen i dive in the crisps, chocolate and any other rubbish i can lay my hands on - but today i didn't :j I am slowly realising that my mothers constant little comments of disapproval are in part connected to my weight and i have the power to rise above it. That is one of the reasons why this time i feel so positive about the weight loss. I have stuck 100% to the plan and will not let negative people bring me down!

(just like a little Jeremy Kyle session that was :rotfl:)
  • Hi peeps!

Here's my menu plan for tomorrow.... need to be organised if I'm going to get my head into it properly.

B: Egg on toast with flora (HEb + 2 syns)
    L: chicken and rice
D: gammon, pineapple, potatoes and peas followed by yoghurt with melon, grapes, raspberries, and pineapple
    S: KitKat chunky (13 syns)

I had planned to aim for 10 syns a day but I think I need to ween myself off chocolate :rotfl:.

  • how long before other people start noticing you've lost weight?

I am feeling really fed up. Been doing SW for a few weeks now and have lost 1st 4lbs bringing me to the lowest weight I've seen for 8 years!

When I started SW my clothes were really tight and since then I've had to drop a size and was starting to feel really good about myself BUT I'm annoyed that not one person has noticed that I've lost any weight. Not even DH has commented, just forces out a well done when I tell him how much I've lost each week :(

Part of me is wondering why I'm even bothering to lose weight when nobody can tell anyway - might as well sit and stuff my face with choc when I still look as fat as ever
    Mum of 7 (aged 14y to 1y)
loving SW - 5st off and counting! :j

You are doing so well don't let OH put you off mine is the same I think he thinks I'll change in other ways. As for other people noticing they will I think it depends on how much you need to lose stick with it for yourself don't worry about others

Oh, trust me, they have noticed!!
But people are often wary of commenting about weight. You know, if they say something and you aren't trying to lose, they feel awkward and like they have maybe offended you and so it's often easier not to bring up the subject. Even with your OH, it's tricky. If he is too enthusiastic about the weight loss it could make you think he was unhappy with you before and hurt you

Keep going, you are doing fantastically. Besides you are doing this for you.

I know exactly what you mean. Today I have reached my 4 stone mark. I was chuffed 2 weeks back when I reached 20%!
I didn't tell many people that I had started the eating plan, just really the people who would be 'involved' on a day to day basis. By the time I got to about a stone down, I had got a couple of comments about looking well, etc.

Very few people have noticed my loss. I'm down nearly 2 sizes, from a 22/24 to 18/20, wearing clothes I haven't worn in about 6 years and buying new bits as I go along. Maybe people have noticed and don't want to say?

My OH is being really supportive, but I feel he is being a bit sarcastic if he shows too much entheusiasm.

I think maybe because it;'s still 'wintery' at times and we're still in jumpers and coats that they don't notice. When the summer comes, and we show a bit more skin and closer fitting clothes, they might well be in for a shock!

Don't give up Mummy Dumpling - you're doing the plan for YOU not anyone else. Surely you must be feeling the benefits by now? Keep your chin up and show 'em what you can achieve whether they want to praise you or not. Maybe they are just jealous?

Sorry for the ramble on, but I can really sympathise with you!

Thanks, I will just use the food up bit by bit then. I am not 100% sure my mind is in the right place for slimming, but I really need it to be as being overweight is really getting me down. I have decided I am gong to join my local group on Wednesday.

mummy dumpling - It took me to lose about 2st before people commented, they did then say they had noticed for a while that I had been losing weight!! As others have said, weight is such a delicate area and people close to you may not want you to get the wrong idea if they say how well you are now looking....also your OH may feel slightly insecure about you losing weight and becoming slim and sexy:)

Keep it up you are doing great and remember, you are doing it for yourself not other people:D
