MonkeyGirl wrote:Ok I'm in two minds about coming now. My friend has fallen down the stairs and broken both her ankles and needs emergency surgery. So I don't know if I can come now as I'm really nervous and scared as don't know any of you and I also feel now I'm going to be burden as both my friend and I had health probs so we were gonig to stick together most of the time and go to sleep if we needed to etc. I feel now I will be a burden and if I need to go to sleep it will be inconvient etc
MonkeyGirlaww really sorry about that monkeygirl - i hope your friend gets well soon that sounds really nasty. Please dont let nerves put you off coming though i think everyone is a little bit scared when they meet new people for the first time but there are so many of us going you are bound to really get on with some if not all of us. You will not be a burden in any way and can take the weekend how you want to with loads of support im sure.
Please still come it would be lovely to meet you and btw i will probably be the burden by drinking too much wine and singing (see next thread:j )0 -
We're all going on a OS holiday
No more working for a day or two
Fun and laughter on a OS holiday
No more worries for me and you
For a day or two
We're going where the sun shines brightly
We're going where the sea is blue(!!!!!!!)
We've seen it in the movies (well on telly anyway!)
Now lets see if its true
Everybody loves an OS holiday
Doing things they always wanted to
So we're going on an OS holiday
To make our dreams come true (ok maybe a bit OTT but hey ho!)
Weather looks good btw
See yall this weekend

Hi MonkeyGirl,
I'm so sorry about your friend's accident! But if the reasons you're considering not coming are that you're nervous and you think you'll be a burden, you really mustn't worry. You can do as much or as little as you like, and most of the rest of us don't know each other either.
Do come if you can, it would be lovely if you did, and I really hope your friend's op goes well :grouphug:

Please please please still come monkeygirl
We'll look after ya and if you need to disappear for a sleep, then that's OK too. (If you really don't want to/can't come, then please will you cancel your room cos he's only having OSers at the moment and I'd hate for him to lose other business when he needn't.)
Anyway - have spoken to nice hotelier who wanted to know what time people were arriving. I said I thought most who were coming Friday would be there from late afternoon onwards? I did say I thought monkeygirl got in earlier, but he said that's fine - he's been invited to a fellow hoteliers across the road for a birthday coffee/drink etc in the morning.
He said that for reasonable eats - the King Edward pub at end of his road did 2 meals for about £6-7 and the drinks were cheap too. We might try there on Friday night? Said the food was ok - typical pub food.
He said he's stocked the bar (he knows Nels is coming) and he will even put on a little quiz if we're in for the evening (potential scary thought). I've told him we can teach him to crochet and all in all he's looking forward to us all coming (mad bloke)
See ya tomorrow

just spoken to a friend who tells me she is also off to Blackpool for the weekend,
I did wonder if she was an old-styler and I didn't know
but no, she is taking 20 young farmers for the annual young farmers weekend away, there are 4000 of them descending on Blackpool :eek:I am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. JackieO is picking me up from home in SE London at 11am and then we are picking up Caterina elsewhere in SE London at noon.
So I suppose allowing for getting out through London traffic onto the motorway, and a "comfort break" later on, late afternoon is about right
 CAN'T WAIT TO MEET YOU ALL :beer:Operation Get in Shape
