Just wondering if I am tight? I remembered that when I took out some public liability insurance with MoreThan Business back in January, they were supposed to send me £50 of high street vouchers - well, they never arrived so I rang them today, they claimed that they were sent but have no idea where they sent them (well, they did have problems with my address because they kept sending my details to another Flat 5 in a different block:mad:) so now they are being sent to me again and I should receive them in 7-10 days. This £50 could be useful as I will be able to buy things with it:D0

You are not being tight at all Horace! So often companies make offers of vouchers or other incentives which do not materialise in order to bring in business. I would do exactly the same as you and chase them up. Hope you feel better soon.0

Hello everyone, I am hoping to get some serious work done this afternoon. I am waaaay behind on my articles. I had real problems yesterday with find information about insurance on electric cars - seeing as how the who;e article was a comarison between petrol and electric I couldn't write it without knowing the cost of the insurance for electric. Seems that comparison websites don't have electric as an option....
So leaving that one for now and writing another about silly compensation claims - like the Mcdonalds hot coffee one... It's all good fun I guess.
Rotten morning at work. I am trying to organise a trip to play Bingo for a bit of a laugh and a bit of a morale boost - noone wants to go. I have 4 people so far...makes me feel like whats the point. I also feel like "is it jjust me?" Regardless - I will be going even if i go on my own. I deserve a good night out!0 -
Things have been going really slowly today. I had to take the morning away from my desk to go to a hospital appointment and haven't been able to get my concentration back since I got back early afternoon! I've done one piece but that was half done last night, and I've still got another one to finish before I can call it a day. *Sigh* Does anyone else find that being self-employed and working from home means that they end up working way past half 5 more often than not? Please don't say that I'm the only one!ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0

Hi Dippy
You are not the only one - sometimes I will work weekends and will even get up in the middle of the night if I have an idea:eek: Either that's dedication or madness I can't decide which:rotfl:
Megs...you have my sympathies - I used to work somewhere where their idea of a night out was an office picnic and each person had to take a dish or plate of something:rolleyes: When I was there the only Christmas Meal they had was one that I organised away from the office but as soon as I left they went back to their boring same old rubbish:rolleyes: Getting folks to do things is a pain - I remember organising a ski trip for some chums, in the end 6 of us went and only two of us (my chap and me) did things like tobogganing all the others were content to sit there and do nowt and then they had the nerve to moan that no-one did anything:mad: I haven't organised such a trip since:rolleyes:0 -
morning all.
I try not to work weekends but during the week it's rare to finish at a normal time! And I always keep a notepad and pen and business cards in my bag wherever I go as you never know who you'll bump into or what may inspire you.
Pouring with rain here today so a good day to be inside working.
Have a good day all!0 -
Morning everyone (just)! Sounds like you're all doing really well. I'm staying quite busy but it's half term next week so I won't be working until the Saturday. I'm looking forward to spending a week not having to do school runs etc!
David - I just wanted to add to what others have said. I do similar treatments to you and I don't think you really get confident until you start doing actual treatments. The massage I give now is totally different to the one I did when I trained as you learn to adapt things and it all changes. Have you thought of doing any other treatments? I started just doing reflexology and then added indian head massage. As I added treatments my existing clients started to have extra treatments rather than me having to start from scratch getting people through the door. Also, have you thought of doing any specialist courses such as adapting massage for cancer patients? There are some excellent courses out there and it's extremely rewarding work. Good luck!0 -
Mudbath - have you thought about offering reiki? I love reiki and find it difficult to find practitioners locally (my chum Sally who lives in the wilds of Cambridgeshire is a reiki practitioner but she sends reiki thoughts in my direction).
I have been in touch with the Institute of Wedding Planners today because they sent an email to all their students as someone is claiming to want our assistance - trouble is I immediately recognised the email as being fake:mad: Why do folks bother wasting time?
My NI exemption form has been sent, I now have my professional indemnity insurance documents and now I feel a bit rejuvenated...I am starting to look at the assignments (I know, I still have then hanging about like a bad smell:rolleyes:) in the hope that I can get them finished, I can get my diploma and I can start on the events course which I think will be more fun.:D
I am off now...before I change my mind about the assignments.0 -
I already do reiki at the hospice where I work. I prefer doing hands on treatments but sometimes that's not possible there.
About having assignments hanging over you......me too! I just haven't got the motivation! Must go and find it! x0
