Glad the apprasial went ok, its a pain not to be recognised for the work that you do.

MM - Odd George the cat was so named because I have a Strange Harold as well! OH decided we needed a cat to control the mouse population as we have horses so with horse feed comes mice, so his cousin arrived with a bright orange ball of fluff bouncing off a cat carrier. As he is ginger, I wanted to name him after someone with red hair so he got Harry after Prince Harry. He is the most anti-social cat I have ever known, eats his food with his paw up to swot anyone or anything that comes near, skulks past with a face on him like he's not impressed so i kept saying "strange cat" so he became Strange Harold. Odd George arrived at Christmas with his sister Rosie Webster (she's a tart) as I moaned to the OH that i missed having a cat to cuddle so he got me 2 kittens. Odd George was originally just George but when he took up with the orange one he started behaving as oddly as him, hence Odd George. I also have a Miniture Jack Russell called King Kong! You can tell I am a sarky cow!

Had a busy day yesterday (thankfully) and put a bit of slap on my face this morning so am feeling a bit more positive - that may change by lunch time but however!

Horace - put the winter woolies on!

TCM you have made me chuckle with the tales of your strange cats:D

Got up early this morning and went and did my mystery shop which will net me £15 - even better it was the type where no spend was required:cool: Had a call this morning from him whom I chucked out last week - he was going to come up this weekend so that we could talk, seems that despite me going to the wedding dinner he is indisposed after waking up naked on his bed to find a fireman standing over him:eek: Seems that the stupid man (him that was naked) had left the grill on since thursday night and had managed to set his flat on fire:eek: He claims to have switched the grill off but as the thing was second hand it probably had a fault whereby it didnt switch off properly - thank the lord his cooker is in a tiny room off the kitchen. He must have been really drunk last night not to have noticed the smoke wafting out of the kitchen or the smell of burning - the silly nit has no smoke alarm and apparently insurance is for common people (not sensible ones:rolleyes:).

The weather here isnt so hot so I will most likely be wearing trousers.

I also used to have a horse called BUMF which stood for Big Ugly Mother F*!%&r! However, I sold him a while back to a rather portly gentleman to dander round the roads on! We have one in the yard at the minute who we have nicknamed Turbo. He does 0 to canter in half an hour!

Horace, I think you are well rid of the muppet and I too am a commoner as i did renew my insurance last year. However, I would like to wake up with a fireman standing over me in quite different circumstances!;)

TCM...what is it about firemen?:rotfl: Mind you I wouldnt like one to catch me naked:eek:

I think that once my business takes off, I shall book some riding lessons - there is a woman that I met at the spa who has her own riding school so I shall go and learn there - when I say learn, I mean that I want to feel safe again as I learnt to ride as a kid and have been riding a few times since - ended up with my head stuck in a hedge lying in the road on one occasion:eek: I must be into trick riding...see how long one can stay on after been carted off:rotfl:

Picked up the Bromsgrove local rag when I was out this morning and had a peruse and have now booked myself onto a networking event at Hagley Hall in June - to meet other event organisers although I admit I had to lie on the registration document.

Am all dressed up for my mate's wedding dinner - I was going to wear a skirt but my heels don't like me wearing nylons with them as they slip so I am wearing silk trousers instead so that I can go bare legged beneath them:D Would it be really bad to take a few business cards with me?

    Morning all.

Wedding dinner was OK - I ended up sitting next to pi$$y woman - she constantly pees and doesnt wash and doesnt care (she invited herself after my daft mate let it slip:rolleyes:), I also met up with another old school chum whom I haven't seen since I left school back in 1979 (actually she left in 1978) who is the cousin of my chum that got married. The food was a disappointment - I didnt have a starter because I am allergic to fish and the other choice was liver pate:eek: the lamb was so covered in herbs that all you could taste were the herbs and you could have been eating anything. Had a trio of desserts though but couldnt eat them all (I ate 2.5) because they were so rich. Met some nice people and managed to get rid of a business card too:cool:

On the way I went to the Toyota dealership just to have a nose and they offered me £2250 off a new car but today when I asked them about the top end car I was told that they couldnt give me such a good deal on the part exchange:mad: If I can't have the top of the range car, I just ain't interested, I am only interested in changing because the car tax is only £35 and I want a car with stop start so that the engine switches off when I am stationary. I am not going to be pressurised into buying a new car either - they are saying that there could be a 5 month delivery time - no change there then because I had to wait that long for my current car.

Am trying to tidy up the office to make room for some furniture.

    Have a good day all.

    Hello Everyone

Have been missing from this thread for a while but been doing ok. Seem to be getting better at the office work/house work balance. Still loads to do but baby steps are working.

Just about to start 2 bank reconciliations, hopefully they will be nice and straight forward.

I am getting rid of clutter on ebay, anything I make is a bonus as previously I would have thrown it away. Stuff that doesnt sell either goes in the boot sale box or charity shop. Its like ironing though - once I start I am fine but it is getting going that is a problem. Cant do anything at the moment as OH is in bed (works nights) so will find some stuff and list in as soon as he is up.

Re Horse-riding, shattered my wrist 2 years ago and havnt bothered since. Learnt when I was very young but the way you ride is different nowdays and its hard to get out of old habits. Great exercise though.

Off now to get these bank recons done.

    Have a productive day.
  • Hi all

Haven't posted for a while but been keeping up with the thread. I find working from home really isolating so this thread - and others on this forum - is a bit of a lifesaver for me! Anyway had a fairly productive morning and managed to tick off several tasks from the to do list but really need to be getting more done workwise. Money situation is not improving so last week started a cleaning job - only 4 hours a week, lovely house etc and good hourly rate. Could take on a few more of these I know - would certainly help out financially but with no one to look after children in the school holidays its really difficult to commit to much. Really didn't want to do cleaning jobs again - hard work and again quite isolating but never mind, just need to get on with it really. At least I've still got the rest of the week to concentrate on card business.

Hope everyone ok and having a productive day.
