that's not bad! Think I'll do the first fair and see how it goes and if people want to use cards I'll consider it for next time. Thanks bluemonkey :-)0

Well done on the sales Blue. My local freecycle won't allow traders of any kind:rolleyes:
The spa was fab..I had the place to myself so I got the bits waxed that needed waxing and had an exfoliation (had to wash the salt off in the shower where the light kept changing colour) followed by warm moisturiser being applied all over:cool: I was then offered 15 free minutes in a dry floatation tank which was wierd but absolute bliss:cool:
They have a new chef there so I had a 3 course lunch:eek: asparagus tips with parma ham with leaves and a strawberry & black pepper vinegrette, jacket spud with salad and cheese & red onion (no butter), glass of iced water, then decadent chocolate cake with fresh strawberries & creme fraiche - followed by lounging by the jacuzzi, a dip in the jacuzzi and yet more sauna and snoring.
Got chatting to new chef and she used to have her own business - she took two business cards:j The day was somewhat spoilt though by a friend who texted me - so I had texts as I arrived (I ignored them) and when I got back to the car yet more texts:mad:
Managed to send off HB form for council today despite having no proof of NI exemption. The jobcentre was phoned about the silly form they sent me to do with signing on, I told the woman that I had received another P45 with the grand total of £9.19 on it (this is my final JSA) and she told me that I would be receiving my £100 job grant tomorrow:j Said form has been taken to the jobcentre for them to recycle it.:D0 -
David - sorry to hear about your breakup, there must be something in the air this week:rolleyes: With your massage things...how about offering your services to various beauty parlours? Just a thought.
thank you horace, i hope you are well
you seem very busy at the moment
thanks for the advice, when i get some time off in a month or so im going to go round those sort of places and try and get a foot in the door.
just finishing off website today and my friend said all go next friday.
im positive but nervous!
but after another terrible (im being polite) day in that warehouse, god people are so miserable, and they are fulltime, if only they knew what the real worlds like lol!
all the best

Hi David
I am trying to keep busy..I was even working when I was at the spa today:cool: I had to go and have some treatments and being a member I get 10% off and I thought that I would chill out whilst I was there. Got chatting to the chef and she told me how she used to be in business..hence me handing over some cards.
I had another thought whilst I was lying there being pampered - is sports massage different to the massage you would get in a beauty parlour for instance, if not then if I were you I would be going to the local leisure centres and gyms and offering a sports massage service.
Some folks are horrid and negative - that's just life. You have to feel sorry for them as you are moving onto bigger and better things whilst they are stuck where they are..saying "if only..." but never actually having the guts to do anything to change their situation.0 -
Thanks MM, likewise, let me know and I can set up something for you too.
TCM, what do you do and where are you based (you can pm me if you prefer)?
Megs, I *need* to get rid of my flabby tummy - after kids and a few abdominal ops it need help, LOL, even when I lose weight it is still there. Do you think there is hope for me with the running (praying....). Mind you, saw those pics of Julia Roberts on the beach this week and she seems to think 'what the hell' so maybe she has it all right. Thing is, since starting this I am starving and this morning actually was near being sick so I had to leave getting the kids ready for school, run downstairs, grab a handful of cornflakes and milk and eat them. I am guessing my sugar level dropped but I've not felt that way before.
My body is seriously rebelling against the exercise - first off a chest infection, then a dodgy back and now my leg is hurting just below the knew. But, I am persevering through it and they are getting better.
Good luck on the appraisal, will be looking to see how that goes for you, let us know.
Depending on your size, click my user name and choose my homepage and it'll take you to it. Choose Clearance by style on the left and then the clothing clearance. Or just choose your size and then put into price order and everything will come in cheapest first. OM me if you are looking for something specific.
Horace, this is the Freecycle Cafe - does your have one? This (it seems) is for local traders. Have a look on your Freecycle page and there should be a 'freecycle cafe' for your area. This is where I have listed it.
And spa to yourself.... and you did not invite us?? You lucky so & so. Mind you, I've never been to a spa, it seems to slow paced for me, I always have to be doing *something*. I am aiming to start running to the nearest post office to send my parcels when I need them going recorded or the like. We shall see.
Dave, not sure what website you run but is it selling? You can do and maintain this yourself of you had an e-commerce store. If you find mine (instructions above) you'll see how mine looks and I have zero knowlege, it is just a case of ticking boxes, adding pictures, words and prices. Just a thought so you are not relying on others, it is web based as well so no more worrying about losing the info on a computer. I get mine via www.bluepark.co.uk if that helps. In regard to the break up, as you say, her loss!! Chin up.0 -
Blue - I am normally up and at 'em but the spa is a place where I can relax and totally clear my head or I use it as a place to gather my thoughts and make plans. I have been known to take work with me:eek: There aren't any interruptions which is why I like it. Its a great place to meet the types with the money who are willing to spend on weddings and the like - except for today as it was as dead as a dormouse:rolleyes: Since the spa has been taken over (the girl who owned it upped and left after she got married), it would appear that for my £55 a month membership that I also have free membership of two gyms one based in Worcester and the other in Malvern:cool: I know £55 is a lot but I don't smoke or drink nor do I go out clubbing so its a justifiable expense:D
Jobs for tomorrow: do business banking (pay in my £100 job grant),
put HB cheque into bank (not done today)
Book car in for service and MOT
Start looking for car insurance
Catch up on emails.0 -
afternoon!
I'm guessing everyone is super busy today! I was in the morning and have started to tidy the office! Shocking! I can finally see my desk.
should do a to do list,
finish tidying office
finish filing
place order with viking
place order with suppliers0 -
Welcome Gooner.
Today I have managed to book my car in for service and MOT. Been to bank (business account) to pay in £100 job grant and £10 from a mystery shop. Not been to bank my HB cheque yet, that has to be done Monday now.
Booked another mystery shop for Saturday which will net me £15 and I don't have to spend anything which is a bonus:D
Still sorting out emails
Keep looking at the assignments too - I know, I know they are hanging around like a bad smell.
Start soring out the office - need to look at buying a filing cabinet and some shelves (shelves are easy, I shall pick up some galvanised ones that can go in a shed)0 -
I think I smell Spam Horace, it is lunch time??
Sorted all my stock today - put it in a bin liner with the intention of getting it onto eBay (one day!! Ha ha) but that is now written off.
Took everything off the website that was damaged stock.
Now got to have lunch and start some more paperwork.
Have a look on eBay Horace, I've my eye on a cabinet on eBay and I'll put that through my expenses as there is a bigger pile of crap in the cormer and lots of files, etc... and it looks horrible if people come round for a fitting, if it is for my files then I'll put it through. There was some storage cupboards selling for 99p this morning on eBay but I saw them qith 15 seconds to go. Doh!!0
