HI everyone, not been on a few days, more about that in a moment, this message is for moneymabel and anyone else that might be interested, have a look at this: www.adelante.co.uk/taxipay it enabled you to use your phone or PDA to take card payment WITHOUT having a merchant account.

Anyhow, MM what fantasic news about the pendant.

Megs, my husband used to work a 24 hour day on call (with a working day of min 12-14 hours) and he never had a day off with sickness or anything. Anyhow, he asked his boss for a day off at short notice to go to a funeral and was told that he could have it but the boss was not happy as he was not very committed!! This was 3 days after he did a 48 hours shift with just 2 hours sleep and he had fallen asleep at traffic lights while in the van. He went in the next day and told him to shove his job up his backside. I told him that no amount of money was worth being treated like that. But this was before kids and I was also working so we could. I just thought I would share, there are so many crap employers!!

Megs, good luck with the run and great news that things are getting busier.

Horace, is it too late for me to join you at the spa.....?? Hope you had a nice time.

Hope everyone else is hkeeping well.

As for me. Remember I was having a moan about not being allowed to post on Freecycle local as I was not a 'Trade'? Well, this was niggling me and so I posted a message asking if anyone else thought it was fair because trades are selling a service and I am selling goods, both are for making money. Well, they all said there was no reason why not and the Mods contacted me to say there had been crossed wires and yes, as I was a local business I could post. So I did.

Within 10 minutes I had 2 requests to come for a fitting. Today my first lady came round, had a coffee for an hour and a chat - so nice to have human company, LOL - but she came wearing a 46DD... she was actually a 36J!! This is why it is so important to make sure you are fitted properly ladies, comfy is not always properly fitted. Anyway, she left beaming with 2 bras I had in stock and a handful of brochures as she wants to order some more. And of course, a glowing report for the freecycle Cafe!! I really miss the face to face contact with people and having them see how much different they look and how good having a well fitted bra makes them feel. So it was a good morning.

Plus, I started running. I have been trying to do the couch to 5k plan but have been finding that I am able to do more than they suggest and on the get running thread they suggested not using this method. But, I've been out 4 times now and today found I could jog for ages before having to stop to get my breath.

I had to go to Sainsburys to get some wraps for hubby & the kids lunches but - and get this - instead of taking the car I jogged there with my rucksack and took my rain coat incase it rained (it didn't) - I went the long way round - and then jogged back with the shopping on my back. I was out for around 35 minutes and with 10 minutes for shopping I feel I well deserved my wrap for lunch with ham and a tablespoon of strong cheese, shoved in the microwave (4 points on WW!! I 'earned' 3 1/2 with the run). If I had taken the car it would have still taken 20-25 minutes but I feel much better about having done it.

I want to thank anyone if the extra sales are from their referrals but I have been really busy, I have done more this week than I have done in the last 4 weeks. How strange that I get nothing then lots. But it has been very busy and so I am a happy bunny, got my customer newsletter out with the new range I have due in in larger sizes too as FL sent theirs and so I thought 'right, got to get in there quick' and so sat up to the early hours doing it!!

Today I have to go and have a bath after lunch
    Pack some more order
Sort the stock that needs writing off (still not done that)
Take the kids to the dentist after school
    Do some more paperwork
    Cook dinner, etc....

    Have a good day everyone.

Hi Blue monkey-thanks for the info it looks interesting, shame they dont tell you the cost without contacting them though!!

Congrats on your sales thats brilliant!!, glad you got it sorted out with freecycle at last.

My website is being constructed at last so your linky will be up soon :-) I'm doing some flyers through vistaprint at the mo-just trying to to work out the wording. ive put on pics of the jewellery, the website adresss and company name and a bit about the jewellery materials and bespoke options. I'm just wondering whther to put prices on there, like-necklaces from £60, bracelets from £30 etc or just to leave it. Would having no prices put people off looking at the website or do you think if there were no prices they might think its v expensive? Hmmm not sure what to do :-(

Well done blue! Am really glad that you're doing well.

Apprasal at work megs, offer to do their apprasal and point out what they do and don't do! I have had a student from a local school for 3 days work placement with me and although a really nice person, they did my head in! There is no work in the "yoof" of today. I think he thought he was here just to stand at the till and look pretty but he got a bit of a rude awakening! Then he stood like a statue for 3 hours and done nothing!

Its very quiet in here again today and I have not pre-empted it so am beating myself up again (i do that often!).

Went round the house last night like a woman possessed to see what was lurking that could go on ebay. Decided that I quite liked the saucepans that were never out of the box and broke as I am I couldn't quite part with them!:o

Why would you not put prices on? Can people order through your website?

Even if they can't, for me personally, when I shop on the internet it's to do a bit of discreet research on what's available and compare prices - if I saw a website with no prices I would keep away from it, because I'd be scared about a nasty surprise if I contacted them.

You could always construct your website so that the first thing people see is a picture of the jewellery and a brief description, and they could click through to a page with more information and prices.

Blue monkey - well done on the running. I have been out running now for about two months and am loving it. I haven't lost any weight but my body shape and more importantly my confidence have changed loads. I have been doing aerobics for around a year twice a week but I needed to do alot more to get results. So six days a week i do either a run or a class and it really does work.I am going to do the race for life. I did a 5k run today and managed 33 minutes. I did have to walka couple of times as i pushed myself a little too hard but I was happy with the time. A friend of mine reckons i can do it in 25 mins - not sure about that!

Appraisal tomorrow. Will see if i get my way about a few things. Fact is i am looking for another job but in the meantime i have to make this job as good as i can and a payrise and promotion would be a good start!

Been a bit slack on the writing front. My client is off on holiday so i don't have the same levvel of expectation from him. I will catch up on sat.

Blue monkey - do you do brightly coloured bras? I am looking for anything kind of funky and retro eighties. I am only small tho so even a tank top type bra thing would do. Need to have alook at your site. remind me how to find it...

The forums shuts at 4.30. Tsk.

MM, they charge you 6% per transaction which you can either pass to your customer (add to postage charges?) or pay yourself. If it get's you out of a spot for fairs and helps you take cards it might be worth looking at.
