Hi all-know what you mean Wordsmith-think i'll take mutt out first coz its lovely here at the mo! Meeting at hotel went well and I am booked in for the wedding fair in September. Retook all the photos for the website last weekend they are much better and my webdesigner has her broadband back on so hopefully all systems go now.
Was given a copy of a sbridal supplement that comes with the local paper yesterday (It costs £250 to advertise in so havent bothered yet) flicking through it and on a feature of a local wedding the bride is wearing one of my pendants!!!! theres a lovely arty photo of it resting on one of her wedding shoes and another which shows her wearing it with the matching earrings. I'm now trying to get hold of her to get a photo to use on my website. Because at the moment i only sell through wedding shops I never get to see anyone wearing my pieces so it was really great to see it!
Sorry to hear about your break up Horace but by the sound of it you can do waaaaay better than him anyway. Men can be such pillocks.0 -
Great news about the pendant, Moneymabel. It must be thrilling to be creative and see someone out of the blue wearing one of your creations. It would be fantastic to be able to use the photo on your website."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
ohh MM how exciting!
It's such a beautiful day today which makes working inside much harder!
Todays tasks:- parcel last of orders and put correct customs forms on each
- check stock for new order

Morning all.
Good news about the wedding fair and the magazine mabel - one thing I have learnt with magazines is to never pay the first price they are asking for their adverts. With County Wedding Magazine - Your West Midlands Wedding I got them down from £250 plus VAT for a quarter page ad to £100 plus VAT but then they gave me 5% discount so I got the ad for £95 plus VAT. The Wedding Planner directory was a different kettle of fish and because he was so pushy he has been told to stop harassing me, he can wheedle and whine all he wants but it isnt going ot get me to part with my cash:rotfl:
Also mabel - try contacting the magazine to see if they can let you have the photographers details, explain to them that the pictures show your work - you never know you may just get some recognition as well as a feature.
I am all suited and not quite booted today because I have a meeting at a posh conference park in Leamington Spa, I am hoping to come away with not only a venue to recommend but also a job as being their wedding planner:D It will be quite an adventure for me as I havent driven on a motorway for months plus I have never even driven to Leamington:eek: All my directions are ready.
As for the chappy, well we are remaining friends:cool: He has seen the error of his ways however but he knows it is going to take a lot on his part to get me to go out with him again. He needs to sort out the nonsense with his work first which has been dragging on for 12 months now and has been the root of our problems:rolleyes:
I decided that instead of wearing the chocolate brown silk suit (I have to wear heels with it and I can't walk or stand for too long in them otherwise my back will sieze), that I am wearing my M&S Navy pin stripe trouser suit and I can wear flat heels with it:cool: I feel professional in it which is what counts.0 -
Good luck, Horace!"Green pastures are before me,

Thanks both:D
I have booked two mystery shops for tomorrow as well which should keep me out of mischief and will earn me £20 (it will be put in my business account):j0 -
Good luck for the meeting Horace, thanks Purpleroses and wordsmith :-)
We're on the same wavelength Horace-I just rang the photographer before I came on here! Hes going to sort out some photos for me that i can use-we are going to crop them to cut out the brides face-He's sure she would be ok with it but i cant contact her coz shes gone travelling for 5 months! This way I'm playing it safe. Just waiting to hear back from him now. he said to have a look through the photos on his site and to see if any other brides were wearing my jewellery-3 were but weirdly it was all the same pendant! I knew it was popular but not that popular lol!0 -

:rotfl:Hi all
Very very quiet today, I think i have seen 3 customers all day which is soul destroying, however am trying to stay positive! I rearranged some stands today and the place looks well even though I do say so myself!
Am v proud of myself as well, in true MSE style, I went into the supermarket for cat food, polish and milk...that was exactly what I came out with! Its a first!
I have paid off another supplier today which i am pleased about but with having a quiet day am wondering now how to pay the next one! I also chased the greasy slimy rep trying to sell me advertising space in a directory which i got no results from last year. i did the polite "i've reassessed my advertising budget" then i did the "i was diaspointed with the results" and finally after having my intelligence insulted one time too many, i did the "I think its time you left" and politely opened the door for him. Grease ball. He had obvioulsy had a double dose of chip fat before he squeezed into his too tight suit. YUUUUKKKKK. I'm a right cow.
Tee hee:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0
