Wow Star - i am impressed by the late night. I start getting brain drain after about 8pm. I have got two kids and a part time job so I guess i have more excuses than average for being constantly knackered!
Took my application for Matalan and doctors surgery in today. Noticed brantano wants staff too. Must work every weekend tho. I would prefer only every other weekend really.
Horace well done on your certicficate. Recognition from someone is better than nothing. Show it to your boyfriend!0 -
megs..fingers crossed with your applications.
I have scanned and sent the horrid form to Sammy for her to look at:D0 -
And you could not really buy that sort of advertising could you..... and all for free too. Genius!! The Sun reckoned 'it was all down to them' as did The Mail. Mind you, M&S sell rubbish bras anyway!!0 -
Hi everyone, Ah Star, I've done many a long nighter - many of them when we used to do eBay, would often be up til 5am and get an hour before getting up with the kids. I do not even know I used to get through those days tbh.
Hubby been at the hospital today to have his eyes looked at and kids been at Gymnastics, just added the the M&S thread that is running (any bets on the price of smaller bras increasing by £2 later on this year!!). So now got to pack some orders for the post tomorrow.
Feel shattered and I've not done anything!!
Well done on the certificate Horace, must have been a lovely surprise.
Not sure where I learned the 2 spaces after a full stop thing (although I did typing at school so it was probably there) but it's a hard habit to break I am afraid so 2 spaces it'll have to be otherwise it'll take me too long to correct.0 -
Blue - I hope your hubby's eyes are ok?
The certificate certainly was a surprise - it will go in the book with all my other ones.
I have a lot of magazines to read too - the chamber magazine, the lady (a free copy) and Attire Bridal which is a trade magazine - now I know that fishtails on wedding dresses are in this year:D0 -
Yes thanks, he is fine but he has 'something' in his field of vision so to have the tests he has to have drops that enlarge his pupils and so cannot drive so I have to do it. He has some sort of lesion on his eye but he has told me the start of a detached retina but it has been caught early. I he said he never said that but he is having to have pictures taken of his eyes and examinations and will then see the eye doctor later on this year. His eyes look horrible when he has it done, I cannot even look at him, it is very odd!!
Nearly finished putting my transactions into my new cashbook - why I did not start it in March is anyone's guess. Still, live and learn, live and learn!!0 -
Ooh, if anyone gets wind of any free/cheap advertising in bridal mags (those little ones at wedding fairs) would you give me a shout. There seems to be a lack of lingerie advertisers in those little mags I have seen so it would be definate interest.0

And if anyone that has seen the site can think of a 'tag line 'for me I'd appreciate that too as I cannot think of anything at all for cards and the like. I am pants at that, I'd like something memorable but my mind goes blank. Thank you. x0

I had to have tests for a suspected detaching retina when I was 14, it was horrible... lots of drops in your eyes and tests that hurts, and then they made me go back to school with blurry vision and I couldnt wear my glasses so I couldnt do any work! Why I couldnt just have gone home grr Luckly mine was a false alarm, but I remember what it was like. Sympathy to your and your OH Blue Monkey.0

Blue - I know what its like - I have to go to the eye hospital every three months. I have uveitis (under control with steroids) but have secondary glaucoma affecting both eyes with 99% vision loss in my left eye plus cataracts and I face more ops:rolleyes: I know exactly what its like - I get flashing floaters which if they become persistent mean that I have to get myself to the hospital pronto as it means that my retina is detaching:eek:0
