    Hello again,
Just checking in to say that I rang my local Matalan and they have a part time job going. Will take the app form in tomorrow. Also ad in the paper for my local medical practice for a receptionist part time too. So things are looking up.
Just about to turn off computer and go to bed. Early start tomorrow. No work but lots of plans. I will find a new job tomorrow with fewer hours so I can be the writer I dream of being.....well we shall see!

Hello all new people! Hello, all. Gosh, you have all been busy today. I’ve been at a client’s office doing the books (and sharing the office with chatty lady – after she left all I wanted to do was sit in a darkened room for a couple of hours).

Starxtrouble, hope your work is going well for you.

Sashanut, you could tell your sellers that your cut is 10% after all expenses have been paid, and list them so that they know what to expect. Or you could take a bigger cut. Seeing as you are making so little from it, it wouldn’t be a great loss if they then said they didn’t want to sell through you. Or you could buy the dolls yourself at a reduced rate – the seller would get their money quickly and so might be willing to accept less – and then sell them on. Congratulations on getting rid of two credit cards.

Bad luck for not getting the job Nzmegs. Something much better will be around the corner. Oh, have just seen your latest post … good luck.

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow, Moneymabel. Let us know how you get on.

I am hopeless at networking, too. But if there is wine involved, I might just try to overcome my shyness (or is that unsociableness?).

Two spaces after a full stop was used in the days of manual typewriters when all the characters took up the same amount of space. Many, many years ago three spaces were used. It was just to make a definite space after a sentence (so two spaces after a question mark and exclamation mark, too) to help the reader along. These days nearly all type uses proportional spacing, which is much easier on the eye. Some wordprocessors and dtp programs are clever enough to adjust the spacing at the end of a sentence so that an extra bit of spacing is included (but not as much as a double space). In general typing, the use of two spaces is still acceptable and examining boards accept one or two providing the spacing is consistent. You will rarely find two spaces in professionally printed matter, though. If you come across a book with extra wide spacing at the end of sentences it is most likely to have been self-published. Although I think I have come across a publisher that uses two spaces - I can't remember who it is, though - but it looks most odd. Lecture over.

Just catching up as I have done LOADS today. Accounts up to end of April are now done!! I've done the depreciation and sorted out all the car expenses I've incurred by going through receipts, bank statements done. Now just copying over the transactions from my cash book but hubby is going to be at hospital tomorrow morning so that will give me something to do then plus when the kids are at Gymnastics, great!!

Not many invoices for April which is great as it means I can get my VAT return don as well by the end of the weekend but I feel too well organised. I just have to do my 'Cost of Sales' for this year and then I am done. Oh, and go and have a sort out of the stock as some of it was water damaged in the winter due to a leak to that needs sorting, recording and writing off. And then it seems I am done. Note to self: Do the accounts daily or weekly instead of 3 monthly! Hmmmm......

Also went for my smear today and I thought I was quite relaxed but she finished it and she said 'you can let go now' - apparently was not relaxed enough.... :rotfl: You know what I mean ladies!! :o

Sammy, you sound like a lush - LOL. Why did this make me laugh, reminds me of the vicar of Dibley...

TCM - I know, this is why I get a little uneasy about things at times, why people just do not feel confident enough to buy. I was lucky that I had the buying power to buy things at a reduced rate so something are very cheap, others are at cost.

I looked for something tonight and cameacross a bra on there I have for sale on my site. I ordered lots of these and then within a wee found it being sold, at cost, on eBay so I rang Freya and cancelled all of my outstanding order but I still have the bras left for sale now - but they are much cheaper than mine because I had to pay 'full price' where they are sendin end of season so ge them at a reduced price. And it just seems that this is constantly what we are up against. There was 4 pages of this one bra and I then thought 'actuallly, do not miss eBay at all', I am enjoying having the extra time to do things with the kids, eBay took all of that time away.

Car boot sales are not relly any good as people expect to pay less than on the market. *sigh*. I had designer pants listed up for £1 a pairon the market and still no-one was interested, there was nothing wrong with them but people just did not seem interested. They re all in storage. I have knickers that were originally £30 a pair gathering dust.... but I'll sort them when I get time (never, LOL).

Thanks for telling people about me, I have had a few orders so if this was because of you - thanks. Oh I forgot, I aso had permission to post about my stuff on Handbag too.

    Horace. Two!! Good for you!!

Star, I am for leaving the cheque too as it'll be dated for a reason. At least you have it.

Onto reading the next page.... Lovely getting the work done but all behind with messages now.

Wordsmith - glad it is not just me then. I've had my head in the books all day - but almost done. Hurrah!! I do not think I could so this if I did not understand bookkeeping - it would mean paying more money out. I cannot work with people chatting, I have to shut everything out to get on with it. Thankfully with my kids (and husband, ha) I have this down to a very fine art!

Hi, Star. I'm burning the midnight oil, too - reading an annual report for a pharmaceutical company ........................ oops, nodded off there for a moment. I'm not going to stay up all night, though, as I am beginning to lose concentration. Correction, I lost concentration on the first page, but now I am losing the will to live. Good luck with yours. Good news on the reduction of panic attacks - what's helping to overcome them?
