Oh goodness I've just accepted another (a lot smaller) job to be done over the weekend and the agency that was sending me files almost daily for 3 weeks but I havent had anything from them in nearly 2 weeks just sent me two files. And they dont even ask if I can do them, they just send them to me! And they want them back today, Ive told them that theres no way I can do so, but I can do them 2moro if they want (im going to be dead come sat..) And for once its the right way round, giving the client who's paying more priority :)

I really hope I havent bitten off more than I can chew...

It's nice to know that there is work around! Well done! :DYou get the impression from the news that the economy is so bad that no one has any money and all freelance work has dried up .

My nightmare is that our work will dry up and then we will be well and truly stuffed, as after 15 years of self-employment we are unemployable.:rotfl:

Has anyone else noticed that since the little piggies are having the flu there has been very little talk of recession?

My takings have been good since the piggies took flu, maybe its co-incidence or too much of Sammy's wine.

Ps - bit of a quieter day today though! Must be the weather!

Has anyone ever heard of United Kapital? I have just had an email from them offering me an increase in working capital through my credit card terminal? Have no intentions of taking them up on their offer but I have never heard of this before.

    hi everyone
sashanut, I'm trying to get my head round your losses from selling someone else's stock. isn't the 10% you charge them 10% of what's left after deductions? That way it shouldn't matter if the currency fluctuates..?
If it isn't, maybe it should be? As you say, no help to you now, but maybe for the future?

Can anyone help me with ideas for how to promote a legal services business?
I don't have any contacts as such, starting from scratch. Just launched a website, no takers from there yet. Toying with joining a networking group, quite expensive though-or maybe that's because I don't have any money:eek:
Going to put an add in the local village broadsheet, at least someone will know I'm here! But of course that also means that I'll have to pay someone to tidy the front garden as I work from home...
It just seems to be one thing after another.
Lost 38.5 lb with SW so far, 56LB to go!:A

Well, the first thing that springs to my mind is: !!!!!! are legal services?

    It's a bit broad.

Do you do divorces? Or wills? Or conveyancing? Or all of those? Or what?

Basically it's a loan they're offering you - against future income from your cashpoint in your premises.

So, if you know that your cashpoint machine in your shop gives you £20/week income, they will lend against that. Obviously at a premium.

Oh and I am going to a networking event tonight where there will be more wine..:rotfl:
I don't go to networking events. I tried one once, felt a right numpty and two people were trying to force business on me ... so I ran away.

    And I don't like wine :)

I like wine but don't drink it very often.

I have now finished my professional indemnity insurance form and am about to post it to the insurance broker plus crafty me has enclosed two business cards - needs must:rotfl:

I have only been to one networking event and folks weren't overly pushy, sure they gave you their cards and had a bit of a chat but no pressure.

Had to call the jobcentre today about my claim because I am actually trying to get £100 back to work grant from them, well one of the advisors Amy called me back to say that my claim wouldnt be closed until I had signed something called a JSA3 form that I could collect from the jobcentre - I know I live almost next door to the place but I have asked her to send it because I have no intention of setting foot in there ever again because it is too depressing:rolleyes: Now I thought when I signed off last week that I had signed all the forms required?
