:hello: Hiya Gang,
Well another week (ish) gone by.....and another mixed bag again – still "treading water” ......
The “promising” meeting decision was postponed till this week, and still waiting to hear – so I sent a short polite enquiry asking what stage they were at. Still on wait and see for now.
Had to cancel the “question mark” MS job due to clashing with an appointment - But I’ve just picked up another one, closer and better fee so not so bad. :j
Scratchies still coming along nicely……. will be a nice payout once the hiccup is sorted !!
STILL waiting to hear if I have been selected for interviews from a few other companies that I’ve applied to…. BUT ….. I had a call today from a more recent application and have an interview on Monday .. YAY! :T
I DID get the casual job – luckily it shouldn’t effect any other applications as I can just say that I can only do weekend or evening shifts for the casual one (I did tell them I was looking for “normal” office work as well) :j
I’ve been accepted by some more MS companies I applied to, hoping this will mean more work.
From the 15 Assignments booked in for this new Contract during May – I did my first one today – and seemed to go very well, I’m quite pleased. I have quite a few to do next week.
Tasks done from last list:
1) Continue with TEMP Search - Ongoing
2) Research similar Companies to canvass for work & Draft a contact list / Approach Letter - ready to go next month. – In progress
3) Snag some more MS jobs – Just the one extra
4) Avon Deliveries & new Catalogue rounds Done – and next lot already out
5) Continue to Revise and revamp my range of Business Flyers for Services – In progress
6) Continue to Draft mailing / distribution lists (various) for the flyers for Services
7) Mind mapping for ideas on targeting “less saturated” markets for Services
8) Do Test shops (x3) - 1 done & passed !!!! 2 pending
This Weeks list...
1) 4 x Assignments (new contract)
2) 2 x MS
3) 2 x 4hr Casual Shifts
4) Interview
5) Avon Drops (x2)
6) Job Hunt continues
7) Source more MS work etc
8) Continue to Research similar Companies to canvass for work & Draft a contact list / Approach Letter - ready to go next month.
9) Continue to Draft mailing / distribution lists (various) for the flyers for Services
10) Complete Test shops (x3) - 1 done & passed !!!! 2 pending
Think that about sums it up ......
Glad to see many of you are moving along well, and sorry to read that some of you are having a not so good time of it atm - Hoping things get better for you guys soon :heartsmil (where's a "normal" huggie thing when you want one )

Well done G - you have been busy:T
I am not doing much today - having a clearout of stuff which is being boxed and bagged and awaiting collection from my b/f who is now my ex - long story but he didnt turn up as promised last night instead he cowardly sent me a text saying that he would be up today, on ringing I discovered that he was at a works do - he does this a lot and yesterday was the last straw so as he loves his work colleagues so much he is welcome to them and he need not darken my doorstep again:j Its been a grand clear out so far and I have found about 10 DVDs still in their wrappers that I haven't watched yet so I am keeping them and he can have all his horrors back:D It is being a very therapeutic day:D0 -
It sounds like you're better off without him Horace!
Yesterday I took some jewellery to a shop I used to supply and she upped the price on them.... which means more money for me:j(after she takes her 40%)
Today I have just sent an email to another of my shops which I was supposed to do days ago. I will be listing more items on Etsy later and that'll be it for this weekend:D..... apart from housework
I need to approach more shops but I get so nervous:o Any ideas to get over my nerves???
Hope you all have a great weekend;):)BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
smartie12, I don't sell jewellery, but whenever deal with potential customers I try not to think of the situation as 'spreading the word' about my brand. That way, even if they don't sign up, I have still 'won' in the sense that someone new has had the personal pleasure (lol) of meeting me in a professional capacity. This makes me more relaxed and easier to get on with.
The world is full of lovely people, and most are very kind and will give you honest feedback if they feel comfortable to do so. Even if someone says 'no', they will probably tell you why if you ask (and listen). They may have suggestions for someone else you can try too.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
aw Horace hope your ok.0

Horace, his loss is another's gain, you're way too good for him.
Am panicing today again, I had a great beginning to the week last week and stupidly paid invoices forgetting about the rent which is due out on Tuesday and i need to have a good day today and Monday to get enough into the bank to cover it. I have had a good run this morning but quiet now and am panicing as the yukky weather is not encouraging people to come out.
Blue Monkey, I have had a very similar experiance about half an hour ago about ebay. I had a phone call from a customer telling me that something i'm selling is half of that price on ebay and would i take the same - i cannot buy it for that price and I have huge overheads to pay and cannot afford to sell at a loss. What are we supposed to do?
Am going to see if the bank will change my DD date for the rent to Friday as I know I can have it sorted by then. Will also hope that miracles can happen!
Thanks for listening

The creature is on his way up from London and has been told that all his stuff is boxed up ready for him - I tried to get rid of him on facebook last night but there weren't any takers:rolleyes: Mind you, who would want a selfish twonk?
My shed is a lot emptier and I now have some extra drawer space for my clothes and a free shelf in the airing cupboard.0 -
I am sorry to hear about your break up Horace. But the fact you are already clearing out his stuff makes me think you were shot of him emotionally a long time ago.
I am having big clearouts today too. The kids rooms were tackled first. i bribed them with £5 each for a proper clearout of all toys and clothes. They also have to help me with other chores for the whole weekend.
I have just finished sweeping the garden and decking. We don't have graas - just astro turf which I will vacuum later! .... that is the truth - you can vacuum it as long as it is dry! Brilliant.
Not doing any work today at all. Going for a run later and loads of house work still on the go but no writing - just can't be bothered!0 -
Astro turf is cheating megs:rotfl: Glad your kids are helping with the clearout.
I am not my usual chirpy self as he has been and gone and sent me a lovely text message - so muggins phones to make sure he is ok to drive back to London:rolleyes: he wants to remain friends, who knows what will happen but he hasnt made much effort to see me and we last met up in February which says a lot:rolleyes: God, I dump the guy and I am the one feeling bad:rolleyes:
I had the form from the jobcentre today - it seems that to get my £100 found a job grant I need to sign on again and then sign off:mad:0
