    Y o y o y.

Im selfemployed work from home and single mum. What frustrates me is that when you are trying to pay your debt they just dont want know, they want you to be paying them off forever. Then instead of trying to work on my business I now have to direct my energies on them. I am so close to not paying my debts and just go bankrupt. I have come so far but the finish line just seems soooooooooooooooo far away. Its toooo much AAAAAAAAAAHHhhhh.

    Thank you for reading.

I am trying to negotiate with scottish power at the mo over my electricity bill - they are now taking meter readings themselves as I physically cannot see the numbers on the meter:rolleyes: not helped either by the meter cupboard being a dark hole. I usually pay £26 a month but they want me to pay £49.50 a month which I have refused to do preferring to pay £30 which they say they can't do and are adamant that I have to pay £39 a month so I am trying to get them to split the difference and accept £35. Seems that they don't want me to eat:mad: The account is £11 in arrears so I am going to use my debit card to pay it all and they can get stuffed..and charge me a sensible rate or I will be changing to one of their competitors. I just need my business to start earning and then I can at least claim part of the electricity for that:mad:

Hopefully, the networking session will bring some business my way otherwise I am going to have to dust off my sparkly twirlers and go and do the dance of the seven veils or whatever they do in these lapdancing joints:eek:

Morning everyone (just)! Sounds like you're all doing really well. I'm staying quite busy but it's half term next week so I won't be working until the Saturday. I'm looking forward to spending a week not having to do school runs etc!

David - I just wanted to add to what others have said. I do similar treatments to you and I don't think you really get confident until you start doing actual treatments. The massage I give now is totally different to the one I did when I trained as you learn to adapt things and it all changes. Have you thought of doing any other treatments? I started just doing reflexology and then added indian head massage. As I added treatments my existing clients started to have extra treatments rather than me having to start from scratch getting people through the door. Also, have you thought of doing any specialist courses such as adapting massage for cancer patients? There are some excellent courses out there and it's extremely rewarding work. Good luck!

thanks for your kind words mudbath. love the name
i do indian head massage already along with swedish full body, seated
acupressure, and other ones like back and feet/leg massage.
ive got a qualification for hot stones as well, but that was really expensive to buy the correct equipment, so on hold with that at moment as im just going to be mobile for now.
all systems go tomorrow night, hopefully.
    thanks again

    Morning

Purple - you will have an even quieter day on Monday which is the official BH:D

I am now thinking that I am going in the wrong direction - don't get me wrong I love organising events and will continue to do that but now I am thinking about being a life coach. Yesterday one of my friends was feeling really low and felt that she had lost all sense of direction because of problems at work, I suggested a few ways of getting out of the situation either by facing it head on and dealing with it, going for an interview today or even setting up her own business (she has had several successful businesses in the past). She was really upset when she called me but after speaking with me she was energised and was already thinking about which route she would take to improve her situation. The course is being run by the Institute of Life Coaching which is run by the same people with whom I am doing the wedding planning course. I have lost my motivation to complete it - I am starting to see it as a chore (is it because I am bored with it I wonder? - sometimes I have a habit of starting something only to get thoroughly bored because it ceases to be a challenge:rolleyes:). I rang them this morning and asked for an email address of one of their students because I would actually like to speak to one first before I commit myself to anything.

Well, I am off to the networking event today - lunch is included and then possibly tomorrow I will have a mystery shop to do but only if the Bullring is open because it is closed to the public again today after a chemical leak which is causing people to become ill.

Onwards and upwards - have a good day all.

Hope you had a good day networking H. I'm sure you could plan events and be a life coach how interesting! I went to see one last year and really liked it, she was a great help!

    Hi everyone,

Seems like a lifetime since I posted on here but I have been so busy.

VAT return to end of April is now down. Refund due.
Annual accounts - almost done, have to finalise this tonight.
Tax return to sort out Tax Credit - almost done, got to do above first and then call HMRC, this we will be due a refund but I now know what my loss is for this year. Wondering if this year is my year for making some money. Wonder this every year.
Accounts up to date and bank rec done to Monday just gone. Feels good to be on top of everything. Was worried about the VAT return as we get fined for not getting it in but that is done.

Half term coming so I'll not be around as I have things planned with the kids. Most of my deliveries are here - one is next door - so I can get all of the orders sent out.

Still running at least 3 times a week. Am now able to do half an hour - maybe 5 minutes of walking in there - but at the gym can see how far I have run and I am doing 3km walking/running in 30 minutes, not sure about around the streets as I am not sure just how far I have run, bought a pedometer but it is not working. Clothes are starting to fit me but not losing any weight.

Need a coffee and got to have a bath and put the orders together and then I am done for today. Hurrah.

One 'Boo' thing. I've had a delivery of a new range of bras in and the fit is appaulling. Waiting for the rep to call me today to discuss but I am a G cup but I can get into an H - so that is 2 size differences. How I am going to be able to sell 6k worth of things that do not fit is beyond me and I am a bit annoyed I've now got all of my money tied up in these damn things that are incorrectly sized. It is different if you sell in a shop because people will try on and take what fits but online people buy the size they are and will return it. Grrrr.

Hope everyone else is well though, I've not had time to read through as I've got to go and have a bath after my run. Have a lovely bank holiday and half term.

    Hi everyone!
Been busy the last few days (thankfully) so haven't been on for a while.

Horace - go for the life coaching - but keep the weddings and events planning as well for now if you can. The life coaching would work nicely alongside the weddings I think.

Blue - be firm with your suppliers. It is horrible at the time to have to be tough with them but they should be going out of their way to keep their customers orders correct at the minute! I had to be rotten to one supplier this morning and I felt awful but it had to be done and now I have the order I needed sitting in the store at a better price to me.

I have a student on work placement who I have renamed "Statue" as she does not seem to know what work is! She's a lovely girl but flipping useless and I have been sending her home early before I get to the stage of wanting to choke her for standing with two arms the one length!

    Have a good weekend

    Hi all

Blue - you need to get tough with your suppliers, if they keep sending incorrectly sized things then say you will have to shop elsewhere.

TCM - kids today don't know they are born - if she is on placement do you need to send a report in, if so say that she would be better off working as a mime artiste that pretends to be a statue, she could either stand on the South Bank of the Thames with a cap on the ground or work with an agency who will find her work at exhibitions etc..obviously its all she is cut out for:rolleyes:

The networking event went well and I met some interesting people - came away with a few contacts: african drumming, a castle which is a hotel and wedding venue, a residential letting agent (she was the speaker) whom i had heard speak for before and told her that she partly gave me the impetus to set up so she is going to send me some contacts - she is a good person to know because she lets apartments/houses to all the major football teams in Bham, the hotel that was hosting the event, I am going to speak to them and have a proper look round - they want help with weddings:j We had the most gorgeous dinner on earth - fresh green salad, mushroom risotto (eww), tomato & italian sausage ravioli and the most divine of all chicken with fusili pasta cooked in a cream sauce (quite light) with lemon juice, followed by a piece of jam rolypoly with custard and fresh strawberry. I asked to speak to the chef who wouldnt come out of the kitchen so I said that if he wouldnt come out then I would go in - he came out (he's not been there long) and talked me through the recipe for the chicken pasta:cool: Picked up a voucher too (kindly put on my plate) offering me 2 mains for the price of 1 and a glass of wine valid for 6 months:cool: and I had a free file & polish so now my nails look fab:D

The next event will be a garden party at Hogarths Hotel in Solihull:D Best dust off my hat.:rotfl:

Hope everyone has a lovely BH weekend - think of me still working:D

TCM here is a link for human statues - it might be useful for the one you already have http://www.human-statues.co.uk/
