The pantry has been partly re-assembled, went and got petrol and then I headed to webbs garden centre to visit hobbycraft as I want some cards as I want to make some of my own again this year, then I went to droitwich and nipped to M&Co as my mum said that she liked a pendant in there - so I walked out with two pendants and a pair of earrings (one pendant and earrings are pour moi), then I went to Waitrose and spent my £5 voucher on some treats and they gave me my money back for parking:cool:
Had a call from the folks that publish your West Midlands Wedding as they are trying to get me to advertise with them again so I just told them that not only could I not afford the advert that I didnt think that it was beneficial as I had had zero response from their website or any advert that I had placed in their magazine - she is going to contact me next year to see if things have changed.
Tomorrow I am off to the breakfast panto followed by lolling in the day spa being waxed and primped prior to me going out at night - a night in the casino playing for chips, dinner already paid for.
Megs..fancy forgetting to payMaybe you could try submitting your article to wedding mags or even set up your own blog (not via blogspot).

Where is everyone the last couple of days?
I have hada good morning. I asked the hubby to take the kids to school and so had a whole extra hour to get stuff done. So now I have finsihed my work for the day and can concentrate on the non-essential stuff. Wish i could work like that more often.
Horace I hope you had a lovely day at the spa. Wish i could have joined you!
I had my son's xmas play yesterday. he sang a self penned song about xmas with his guitar. My heart was literally thunping out of my chest i was so nervous for him But he did a good job. i could tell he was nervous tho.
My daughters xmas play is today. Nervous for her too as she has a stutter and can have trouble with some words. but we have practised her lines over and over and I think she will be fine.
Come on people where are you???0 -
Hi everyone. Thanks for the birthday good wishes, and a belated happy birthday to Horace and Mrs T!
Last night I finally pulled my finger out and did a load of work on my accounts. Yay! Still need to re-register online, gonna do that in a minute, and have a few more receipts etc to sort out, but I've made inroads, so shouldn't take much mor to get it all sorted (hopefully).
Megs, bless your little boy, how brave! Glad he did well.
JP, good luck for your fair today. Don't lower your prices too much, people obviously liked your stuff at the Reebok, and I agree with Mabel, I think you've done a good job making your table money plus extra on top, as I imagine the table charge was probably quite high?much work to be done - new sig coming soon...0 -
Just a heads up ladies and chaps - there is a new phishing mail going round at the moment - it's basically disguised as a HMRC mail saying you're due a tax refund for x amount and click here to register for it. The link obviously doesn't take you to the HMRC site, but the links in the footer do - very clever and naughty people
The mail itself is in good english and has what seems to be believable authentic images etc but the give away is that it isn't addressed by name and frankly when has HMRC contacted anyone by email to give them money...
Just be aware...

My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Thanks for that tip off MrsT - there are some sneaky beggars out there. HMRC usually send stuff in brown envelopes, they don't normally send emails.0

I've been getting some dodogy paypal ones lately tellingme my account has been stopped and click here. it isn't even sent to the email linked to my paypal account and they haven't tried very hard to amke it look genuine. i guess some people fall for it tho.
I have spent this afternnon ringing HMRC regarding my tax credits. I might get an increase as my income has fallen slightly since i left work. I also had to register for the online self assesment but couldn't as I lost my unique code. i now have to wait for that. But it feels good to have gotten those jobs out of the way.0 -
evening all, fayre was ok, sold more stock but because i cut prices i still only made £50, but then people were saying the prices were just right so i dont know, i could have upped them again but then not sold as much, just seems to be a bad year, or im not going to be cut out for all this, everyone was looking and liking then just walking of. worst bit was i wanted to make enough for a wedding fayre but that hasnt happened so going to ring her tomorrow to see if she will pencil me in and let me pay in 4 weeks, shes on horaces facebook list so im hoping shes understanding, if not its back to replanning and trying to find something else, maybe if i promise a tiara as a raffle prize ill convince her.
hope everyone else is having a good time.
im now on reduced computer time as well for while as having to share with john since i put mu thumb through the laptop yesterday, i blame him lol he rang me when i was busy (playing games!). so need a new laptop now.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
I havent been on here because I have been mega busy - breakfast panto on Tuesday followed by a facial and waxing at the spa, didnt have time to lounge about as I was running late, hit the countrywide store and bought a new coat in the sale and some much needed new riding boots as my others have worn out (they are 5 years old and the soles are rather holey). I was at the casino for dinner on tuesday night got home at around midnight and then I did a bit of work, up early again yesterday for another breakfast meeting at the same casino, slept a fair bit yesterday afternoon (am too old to burn the candle at both ends). Today, I have been on the phone, playing with the washing machine (the repairer rang me today to say that the lights meant that it had overfilled itself:rolleyes:) - I think it needs a new rubber door seal as the inside rubber has been rubbed by the drum:rolleyes: Have tweeted, networked online, booked a mystery shop for tomorrow.
JP well done with your fair - you have made money at least.
Monkey well done on getting the accounts sorted and thanks for your belated birthday wishes.
Megs..you must be so proud of your son and I hope your daughter enjoys her play tomorrow.
I remembered to take my work mobile to the casino as it had a text on it from the casino offering me a bottle of bubbly for my birthday so I collected it but am not allowed alcohol at the moment due to meds that I am on so I shared it with 6 people at the dinner. I also had a free £5 bet and stupidly played stud poker and made and lost £15:rolleyes: Next time I will stick to blackjack and maybe roulette - not that I am planning on playing any time soon.0 -
Morning!
Havn't been about as busy too! Trying to orgainise shop move for the new year (will be saving 2 full time salaries with the reduction in rent alone) and with Christmas fast approaching, thankfully the shop has been a bit busier - not a whole lot, mind, folks still shopping carefully and doing homework on the net as well as shopping and because i'm not on there yet i think i am losing out - however, with the new premises, i should have time to get that sorted!
JP am sorry to hear the shows weren't as good as you were hoping for. Sometimes, it is about being out and seen at these events to get your business and products noticed. Hugs.
Horace i know where you're coming from with the advertising, i did alot before, thinking it would pay off but had little or no response, then someone the other day said "i never see you advertsing anywhere" so i can't win.
Have a good day, hope everyone busy

Hi TCM (and everyone else too numerous to mention). I went and did a bit of christmas shopping today, mainly in Borders books as they are closing down. Done bugga all else:rolleyes: I was thinking about you the other day when I was in the countrywide store (I love that place, they sell sheep hurdles, animal feed, farming stuff, riding stuff, clothing, food, books etc), they had a huge poster on the wall advising shoppers that if they introduced a friend then they would get a £10 voucher - it might be worth doing something like that in your shop (put the price up slightly to recoup the £10). I bet you are all excited with the move to new premises?
I am off to the free gym tomorrow - I have been roped into delivering leaflets but now I have a new warm coat (I swear it can be used for riding as it has a double zip up the front and a zip either side to open up the flaps) - its amazing what you find in the countrywide store in the sale:cool:0
