Star..if your big toe has gone cold..then I would go to the hospital because it sounds as though the blood supply has been cut off..not wanting to scare you but if you leave it then you could end up losing your toe:eek: Star on the dog front..why not advertise to be a dog walker and that way you can take people's dogs for a walk also contact your local dog's home as they like people to walk their dogs. That way you can get the exercise without having the expense or even space for a dog in your flat.

TCM - no word from hunk yet..but I am ever hopeful:rolleyes: He's supposed to be on strike tomorrow as all the postal delivery workers are out but he told me that he will go in because he wants his pay as he has bills and a mortgage to pay, if he strikes then he gets nowt. I hope he's ok crossing the picket line (gosh..look at me worrying about him:rotfl:) Good luck with the rugs.

I am working on a proposal which thankfully doesnt need to be submitted until January as I have to do some more research and it involves attending a wedding fair at the hotel in question. I am thinking that no wonder they have a problem making any money from their stand fees as they charge £50 plus VAT, they dont feed you but will offer exhibitors a discount on food and drink. This seems awfully cheap - I have paid £115 for a small table which included two drinks and a sandwich before now and not got much from it. If you wonderful ladies (and men) could give me an idea of what you pay for your tables at various fairs I would be grateful especially if those prices include food or not.

Horace, our trade stands vary, depending on where the location is and if its a big show or a pokey tin pot one! The cheapest I have paid is £50, and that included a manky burger from the ever present chip van, the more expensive ones are usually about £120ish and may include sandwiches or soup but not a gourmet meal!

My man flu is slowly fading and I can now smell again, I have a pot of home made veg soup waiting for me this evening - being v good as Thursday is normally my chineese night as I work late but the OH is taking me out for dinner on Saturday to a posh place!

Hi Nappentass - not sure what to advise re bankruptcy etc - good luck though.

Thanks Horace, nice one on the hunk girl - hope things go well for you.
Table fees at local holistic events £30 - £50 ish for a day - no mention of food - HTH

Star - please get your foot checked out by a decent quack, I do hope it's not too serious.

Hi Star - another thought - if you have diabetes it could be a circulation problem and should be checked. Also arthritis or even (if it is red sore and swollen) gout. Check the colour too. if it is pale and cold (as already mentioned) you should get it checked. Check the toenail by pressing it to see if the blood runs back into it quickly. if it slow then it isn't a good sign. Compare with your other toes. This does not constitute medical advice and you are always advised to see your doctor....lol

Horace - how exciting. I love the start of a new romance. Not that i know as I have been married for 10 years - but I do have a vague memory of how it all works!

I am nearing the ne dof my second week full time and I am finding I am running out of time a lot. I am taking the kids to school and picking them up and having an hour off for lunch and unloading the dishwasher and putting washing on. Anything but working sometimes. Plus I am applying for other writing jobs at least an hour a day. I guess that is working.

So all in all I am not doing too much more than I used to....just spread over the whole day instead of squeezed into 2 hours. Hmmm

Thanks for the tips on the table fees..its for a proposal for this hotel that I am trying to get to work with. Now its a quite nice hotel and they currently charge £50 plus VAT and you can buy a bacon buttie if you want but I am thinking that their fee is too cheap especially if they are trying to market themselves as a more upmarket place.

Megs - have you thought of delegating some of the household tasks e.g. filling and emptying the dishwasher, putting the washing machine on? New romances are always nice and I am looking forward to it..anyway it sure beats Mills & Boon (why do the characters in them hate each other on sight and then get together at the end?).

Hope you enjoy your dinner on Saturday night - I havent been to a posh restaurant for ages (well the last time I went it was for a Women Who lunch networking thingy with the chamber of commerce but I haven't been taken out to one). Glad you are feeling better. As for your broomstick - is it a proper besom and how is your familiar today (is it odd george?)

I was all set to go on a balloon course down here but at the last minute, the price doubled because of inflation....:D

Would have been a waste of money anyway... these things are usually full of hot air!! :D
