Odd question... how can you tell if youve broken your toe?0
-
Ouch Starx - I did that once - two toes actually. They swelled up and went blue after a day or so. Couldn't walk at all for a few days and couldn't wear shoes. I went to a&e which was a waste of time as all they did was strap them to the toes either side to keep them still.
I still have problems with numbness in these toes.
I did it when my daughter was just 3 days old. She was born with a cleft palate which was undiagnosed - but it caused her to ahve trouble feeding and swallowing. So she would have these episodes of not breathing. So in a panic we called an ambulance one night. I ran down the stairs with my husband behind me holding the baby - he fell into me and I crashed into the stairgate at the bottom of the stairs. The baby was fine as he concentrated on keeping her safe and used me as something to fall on to! Ambulance arrived and I was in such a state about my baby that I forgot about the toes until much later. She was fine obviously and the cleft palate was discovered and fixed, but I still have nightmares about what might have happened...
Tell us what has happened to you toe, Starx!0 -
Ouch.
Star, mine went blue too and I was lame for a long time! I could only wear certain shoes as ones that were more tapered hurt like blazes. I had a wooden jumping pole crashed onto mine and of course I said "oh my goodness me, that was terribly sore" when it happened!
On a rug fixing blast today.
Have a good & productive day & a profitable one!

Hi and welcome to the nuthouse that is MSE:D
I have a small amount of debt which is manageable and also work from home. This crazy woman started up during the recession but I am not going to give up, clients will come, I already have some work lined up which is nothing to do with my profession - writing the blurb for a webpage for which I will get £30 (hey its money:D ) and a product launch which is to be organised for October. I am a wedding planner but this wasnt always my job before that I was a PA but was made redundant from my job in 2007 basically I was bullied out by the nincompoop that I worked for, I had so much time off sick that I was selected for redundancy and my employer made damn sure that none of their 30 vacancies were suitable even those on a lower grade than I was already on:mad: Still I have moved on and set up my own business in October. I am still on benefits that will change in April when I finish test trading - no way am I going back, this is my business and it will be a success:D
Procrastination is what I am good at - I keep saying that I will get a filing cabinet but so far I havent, I have become a bag lady as all my filing is in carrier bags:eek: . I also keep saying that I will do my assignments for my HND in wedding planning (only two left to do), I have become bored with the course and for one of the assignments scraped through with a C+ I am amazed I got that because I did the bare minimum - basically regurgitated what the coursework said with no real input from myself:rolleyes: The last assignment in the course (but not my actual last assignment as I do the course how I see fit which means that I will work backwards), my tutor was pleased with and gave me an A+:j
I have become a card tart and my debts get shifted onto the 0% card, I have the deal until August 09, it will all be gone by then. I am also a freebie queen.
That's me kind of in a nutshell.0 -
Good grief TCM how many rugs to you have to fix!!! At least it's all money! I broke my toe when my 16.2 horse trod on my food. She was so dozy it took two people to make her move. I also said 'oh my, that hurts quite a lot' or words to that effect!!!
Still not working as DS is still off school. I'm going to make a effort to do some 'organisng' this afternoon though. First of all my friend is coming round to give me a pedicure though...it would be rude to refuse!!
JPW - the fair sounds good - it WILL be profitable and good fun!
Hugs to all xx0 -

Virgin CC extended my 0% period to July 2010:j I did erase some but shifted more a business spend balance from my Amex card across to it:rolleyes:
Broken toe - toe goes purple and hurts like hell. Hope you haven't broken it Star.
I have been busy networking again today and chatting to a hotel and we have agreed that I will attend their wedding fair in January as a visitor and put the proposal in after that - I discovered that their stand fee is £50 plus VAT which is awfully cheap. We were also discussing a networking event - I am a member of 4networking now and I know that the company behind it is thinking of setting up some women only networking events which will take place in the evening - I am waiting for a call from 4networking next week for a chat:cool:
I managed to do a pile of washing this morning and it is drying in front of the window in the other room as I don't think it is warm enough outside for it to dry on the line:rolleyes:
Have a great day all.0 -
Muddy, one man left me in 40 to do, the next day a riding school left me in 20 odd, then 2 days later another riding school left me in 15. Thats not counting the odds and sods that get left in in between times and mummys panicing because they want to clip the pony tomorrow and can i please wash & fix 5 rugs for tomorrow:mad:. Yes, I could if I put myself in the photocopier and pressed 5! So I reckon at the min there are about 80 to wash, with about half needing repairs. Thankfully though I can repair them quicker than the machine can wash and dry them! Hope the DS is keeping better, x
Any word from hunkyman Horace? I am hoping that he'll turn up unannounced with a bouquet of flowers at the front door! Shucks, am such an old romantic.
The puppies have gone into the paper tonight to be sold, its hard to think they are that age already!
Off to do more rugs

Well the reason I dont know if Ive broken it is cos a couple of years ago I broke my little toe when I ran down the stairs at high speed cos I was late for netball, was the first match of the season and I was the captain that season so had the bibs and the balls. I managed to run into the door frame. After (literally) rolling around on the living room floor swearing profusely (with my brother killing himself laughing at me, I had to put my shoes on and drive the 3/4 hr to netball and then play for an hr. It was agony.
This time, I dont know what ive done to it, its my big toe. A few days ago it started feeling odd and I thought I might have slept on it funny. Today its started to hurt more especially when I walk/wear shoes.
So I'm a bit confused.
Have a small deadline for 2moro so must get on with work. Have been out at WW and v happy to report a 4lb loss0 -
OOOOOH pupppies... what are they TCM? I desparately want a dog (they bring me out of my depression for one thing and force me to exercise) but in our flat there is no way. Mine and OHs (mostly OHs as my spare cash goes off my debts) savings for a house is called the puppy fund!0
