Can someone help me please? i need to sort out some public liability insurance but i cant see to find anyone that will cover handmade tiaras, plus it would be great if i could also get it to cover my balloon decoration rather than have to fork out for 2 lots of isurance, i have tried to get quotes of some people but got messages back saying they wont cover handmade tiaras, without it im pretty stuck.

TCM - have you seen this;
http://www.horsesinsideout.com/pictures.html
The picture in the paper this morning was amazing....it really gives you the feel for a horses anatomy.
JPW - a friend of mine uses;
http://www.balloonbaboon.co.uk/
She's says the quality and service is amazing. Thought you might get some ideas / prices etc. from it.
I'm still not working but hope to start again next week.
Have a good day xx0 -

JP - I had my public liability insurance from More Than Business (not that I will be using them again) - is it public liability that you need or professional indemnity? Instead of saying that its handmade tiaras that you want cover for - think of your business type eg. jewellery or events supplies. Well done on the order:j
It is the best time to start a business - if you can survive a recession you can survive anything. Best to be cash rich and asset poor unlike other firms who are going to the wall because they are asset rich and cash poor. Heck, there was even a chap on the Small Biz forum on here yesterday asking for money from a business angel because his business had £50=100K of debt as that money would tide him over until his business started earning - we had to point out that business angels don't invest in businesses that have huge amounts of debt.
I entered a competition on Heart FM yesterday (via the internet) to win £5000 to improve my business from Aviva Insurance.
Had the free hypno session this morning and I am not convinced...we shall wait and see.0 -
Have you got a link to that competition Horace? Cos I cant find it on their website
Thanks0 -
Star it was an email that they sent me - I can't see it on their website either. I still have the email as I kept it just in case I win (fat chance of that happening).
JP - why not list yourself as a party planner or something like that? Hiscox are probably about the best as I have my professional indemnity insurance from them and next year will get my public liability insurance from them as well.
Grr...don't you just hate it - my intercom buzzer has just been buzzed, I have just answered it and whoever is there is ignoring me so they are staying out on the doorstep:rolleyes: Mind you it could be the silly twits from the basement as they are always leaving their key behind - strange that as they need to lock their front door with it because the doors don't lock themselves:mad:0 -
would party planner cover my tiaras as well? i think this is the hardest bit to get my head round, wouldnt want something to go wrong and them find im not insured.
hope everyone is having a good day? ive been o a gift wrapping course, wich was free from our local surestart centre. so been productive, ow to finish tea then go and make the orders ive got although got to go shoppig tomorrow for stuff for the fairs.back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0 -
JP - ask Mabel about her tiaras and see what insurance she has and where she gets hers from. I am thinking party planning because you could sell your jewellery at parties and you have this balloon thing.
If you are going to offer balloons for weddings etc then you will need public liability insurance and can put that down as event planning or event supplies (I had to say that I was an event planner to get public liability insurance - mind its not a lie because I do organise events). Without wanting to sound rude but I think that you are thinking too much.
A quick trawl of the internet - I found a forum for crafts people where public liability insurance is discussed: https://www.craftsforum.co.uk also listed was a specialist insurance broker that deals with insurance for crafters (eg handmade jewellery etc) https://www.craftinsurance.co.uk - I think you would be best going for specialist craft insurance but at least with the forum you can talk to other crafters and ask them and read what has been written about public liability insurance.0 -
lol sooooooo offended, only joking, no your right i do think to much i always have, thanks will have a look at getting my insurance like thatback to comping in 2017, fingers crossed :beer:0
