b4u search.com - your name and address are on it!

This website allows you to search on people and location. It then uses details from the electoral register to tell you the full name and home address. This in my case is despite me having opted to not have this information released by my council. :mad:

Anyone can search on your name and county and track you down. I upset people as part of my job and they can now find out where I live :eek:

You can e-mail them (privacy@b4usearch.com) to ask for your details to be removed or they charge extortionate fees (£7.50) to call and have it removed urgently.

I am horrified and will be taking this up with my MP and council. Does anyone know of other similar sites that I should worry about?

They can't find out where you live unless they know the location and your full name.

County and surname are enough for me - unusual surname, not many in county.

The point is they should not be able to get this information or indeed post it on the internet. It is only avialble to callers in person who go to the council office and read the hard copy.

just found myself and then all my neighbours!!!! Just by using surname and county - this should not be accessable to all!!! Even tells you who else lives in the house!

The email address is dodgy too! I tried emailing privacy@b4usearch.com and I received an error!

OH NO GOD! I have just found everyone I know!!! This is disgusting I never knew my info was being used in this way?

I have emailed them to remove mine and my in-laws details but I wonder if they'll actually do it :mad:

done the same - have checked only my daughter in on yet five of us
live in the house, had a reply asking for postcode so I will wait and see
