Oh gosh, I burnt the chicken, found my daughter gyrating to fifty cent whilst watching MTV - she's five - OH has a cold, but he is acting like he is dying (I swear he has a bell), burnt my hand on the burnt chicken tray, put my very special red bra in with my white washing (just watching it go round at the moment, praying), forgot to top up my electric key (so I am on the PC in the dark), stubbed my toe on the door whilst running to see what my OH wants (dig a ling a ling). So I am very sorry, I had a fag. Now I'm !!!!!!.

Hi - just noticed this thread and I havent read all of it but can empathise because I have spent the last 7 years trying to give up. Oringinally I could go a month and then always ended up back on them again then 2 years ago managed 7 months but had a rough time at work and reached for my ciggies  last year I did 8 months than had a lot of family trouble and started again   it was an excuse really so last week I went to the smoking cessation clinic and got my patches and inhilators. I packed in last Tuesday and havent needed to use the inhilator :j I just really hope I manage it this time - I hate it

I gave up almost two years ago now (previous record 3 months)!
Iwent to my local NHS stop smoking service , used patches and an inhalator (gives you something to do with your hands). I also put the price of a packet of fags in a sealed jar each day in coins as i smoked a full pack a day. it really helps to see the money building up and after 6 weeks i had a new digital camera ....good luck

thanks julesgr - I make sure my purse in empty ( not difficult at the moment LOL ) I know what you mean about seeing the money adding up but my idea is that if I have to go to a cash machine for the money I might think twice :) I have noticed that I only needed to go to the cash machine once last week - normally used to go every couple of days at least!
