I'm stopping from tomorrow too. (If you've read my hols thread I think I must have used bad English..it's this Saturday not last!)

I've prepped by re-reading Allen Carr's book and got some patches on prescription. The book alone hasn't been enough for me to stay stopped.

I should have nice blotchy/itchy skin where the patches will have been by about Tuesday and broken sleep by about Thursday! :rotfl:

Are we going to use this thread to rant when the going gets tough?

I think we may need some more grumpy smilies too (ooh-er there's a contradiction!) :rotfl:

Went cold turkey yesterday morning .... couldn't stop giggling yesterday, and today am twitching. Said the "f" word to 8 year old daughter when she asked for a drink of milk (I know, I know - it cost me 2 hours and a 250 piece jigsaw puzzle to almost make up for it!). Went and bought some "calms" as a just in case (they say they're natural??) so that I don't repeat.

Am also on weight watchers, week 5 (8lb down) and desperate to keep that going at same time. So far, so good.

Support - zero. Not one person has noticed, and I don't intend to share the news except in anonymity world.

Well girls (and boys) it looks like the air may be a rather fetching shade of blue on this thread next week.. :D Good on those of you who have already started I admire your strength :T I won't admit which attempt this is for me but everytime it gets a little easier..I have Allen Carr at the ready..again,inhalator..check..endless sweeties(for me and bribes for the kids :D )Good luck to everyone of us and keep it up all the new quitters!!! :T
My new 'tightwad' attitude may help on this too this time as I am adamant I'm chunking £250 off something next month..can't do that if I'm smoking
  • Hi everyone

I quit 16 days ago- started on patches the itch then I forgot to put them on for a couple of days felt twitchy and put it back on felt sicker than a dog on a rollercoaster and have not looked back since- down side I can taste my own cooking again and my i suck at cooking plus side i dont stink and i dont have to go out in the rain for a fag. Good Luck to y'all.

Oh and for those of you waiting to give up - the feeling of not sure whether to cry, shout headbutt the wall or laugh hysterically about yourself - it is normal and will pass after about a week or so, keep a diary that week well funny to read about after.
