I've just been to M&S and I am appalled that there is nothing on offer for vegetarians in this deal, given the growing numbers of vegetarians in the country now. The manager was nearby so I made a point of expressing my displeasure. She replied that research showed that there were not enough vegetarian families to warrant including vegetarians in the deal this time!!! I am totally gobsmacked.0

I too was very surprised that no veggie option was there (I'm not a veggie).0 -
Just been and got mine;
Beef roasting joint
New potatoes
Chocolate cheesecake
2 Elderflower drinks
Saved £7 ish and was quite pleased although I don't eat meat (the rest of them will scoff it down I'm sure!). The cheesecake looks yum! There was a bit of everything in the Bath store, although I didn't see any mints. The chickens were huge!I want a perfect body, I want a perfect soul, I want you to notice when I'm not around0 -

Can anyone tell me what cut of beef is the beef roasting joint?0

I was in my local M&S this morning and decided not to go for this offer. Firstly the beef joints mentioned on the website were NOT Aberdeen Angus, so I felt a bit let down as that was what I went in for. A lengthy conversation with a supervisor ensued:
Firstly I must add that the SA was very genuine and helpful, and I was not the first to bring up these points today, and she did say that my queries would be added to the others when they give feedback to HO.
The Aberdeen Angus mentioned on the website is a substitute offer only for when the stores run out of the other beef. It is a tiny portion apparently and will only feed 3, so I was told the other joints were better value. I did ask how they could justify that in a "roast for 4" but the sympathetic SA just shrugged and said yes it doesn't seem fair.
They do seem annoyed that the website is misleading customers (and the store staff themselves too) when it shows ALL the options available to the stores as some of those will only be issued to stores when they run out of other selections.
I asked about a veggie option, and was told that M&S do not sell a veggie meal option that is expensive enough to warrant the £15 price tag. Maybe they could have done a cheaper deal for veggies? Who knows, but the SA told me that this offer has only been in the pipeline for 3 weeks and they may not have had enough time to organise with the suppliers. (I find this hard to believe, but who knows?)
I just didn't think this offer was as good a deal as the £10 deal. Especially considering most of the desserts were the same size as the meal for 2 and the sides were not double the size of meal for 2 either.
Anyway, the food did look good so I wouldn't try to dissuade anyone from buying one, but thought I would add my thoughts.
Oh and there was no indication of what kind of joint the beef was (not helpful in deciding how to cook, but it did come with instructions which I didn't read). In my store most of the joints were around 1Kg in weight and costing between £8 and £9.50.

The salmon didn't look very big but my extra large chicken says "feeds six" so I was very happy with that. I think the extra fiver is justified because the meat and veg portions are bigger and the desserts are nfull size..the bramley apple pie looked enormous!0

I got the lamb joint, roast pots & whole cheesecake! Mmmm, can't wait! x0

I got a £13.17 extra large chicken which i've popped in the freezer. The side salad that i was going to buy anyway to go with tonights fajitas, a sticky toffee pudding (So bad, but sooooo good;) ) And a bottle of cab sauv. Very pleased with my deal and saved over £10:beer:The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
