Also, I went to get my deal this morning at Bluewater and had a look around the rest of the food hall and found they are doing loads of frozen desserts (pavlova, pecan cheesecake, strawberry torte, profiterole cake etc - all ranging between £3.99 and £4.99) as Buy One get the second half price. However, when it went through the till it went through as a Bogof.

Might be worth noting if you want to boost your dessert offering on Sunday!

Im not sure im seeing the value in this one unless the sides and deserts are double the size of the usual meal deal which im not convinced they will be (unless its the individual deserts but the majority of the puddings serve 4 small servings anyway). I suspect for the extra £5 you are getting a better cut of meat or a large chicken so im not convinced of value but will check it out in the hope im wrong :D
Hi they i bought this meal deal from M & S as my children prefer the chicken from they, they only 5 and 8yrs but know they food.. I bought mine on thursday got a large oakham chicken (normally £8.50) this does us quite a few meals as i cook it in the slowcooker, strip the meat, which is quite a lot more than you would think. This makes quite a few meals on its own then use the carcass to make a stock. The others are a kind of bonus, for instance me and my OH drink wine so the white wine is quite good as on its own i think is £5.50, so the desert and side are a bonus.
I normally only buy it when it's on for £10 but decided to get it anyway as i have never tried plum pudding.

Regarding takeaway comparison depending on what you choose it is really nice, not too salty or fatty, deserts are scrumptious also if your feeding kids as well its just easier than going out somewhere.

I went into my M and S today and managed to pick up a chicken to the value of £12.92. Adding all the other bits found this to be a great deal.:T

im not arguing with the quality just the value in this deal. I got a chicken for £12.75 and i think the biggest i've got on the £10 deal has been about £8.50. I got the same sized bottle of wine, same sized profiterole stack and same sized side salad so i'm guessing ive paid £5 more for the mothers day meal and but only got £4 more in chicken size....

All that being said I get my moneys worth out the chicken with all the meat stripped off and bones for stock.

Well yes, but it was a higher priced wine £5.99, compared to the cheaper wines in the £10 dine in for 2. The salads appeared a bit larger to me.

1 standard bottle is 750ml... can get 4 small 175ml glasses out of it, with a bit left over.

restaurants charge more than £5 for a small glass of wine! therefore the bottle is still good between 4 as technically a bottle is for 4 ppl!
