I got an extra large chicken, price tag £12.69 - it was the biggest they had! It's currently roasting and is much less fatty than the sainsburys one I bought a few weeks ago!

I also used my 10% off voucher as I have an M&S credit card - I didn't think it would work on the deal but it did. the best thing was it took 10% off the original prices not the £15 price...so:

    chicken 12.69
    wine 5.99
    cheese 3.99
    roasting veg 3.99

total 26.66 - 10% is 2.67 so all in I paid £12.33 for my deal, and £9 of that was using loyalty vouchers!!

Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

For those who had the salmon, did you enjoy it hot or cook it and leave it to go cold.

I ask because we felt the marinade totally overpowered the dish and we could not tell it was salmon at all, very salty, too much ginger and garlic.

I left 2 portions until today and had them cold, the marinade was still strong but not quite so bad.

I have written to M&S to complain about this as it spoiled an expensive cut of fish.

As for the gold medal Chardonnay, pretty bog standard fare IMO, nothing special.

    Pudding was good tho'
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

We had the salmon, my husband cooked it and poured the extra marinate all over it. He set the oven timer and the marinate just burnt and made a real sticky mess. The salmon was still very nice though.
Still didn't want to complain to him, as he made the effort for mothers day, I've just got to clean the oven now!
