Placed order on the 1st December....yesterday(08/12/2004) got a letter(dated the 1st dec) saying order had been refused due to bad credit card details and i would have to reorder.
But then also had another letter from Empire dated 2nd December saying several of my items were out of stock.
I phoned them yesterday and got them to put through what items they had left thru to my order...also got them to apply the £15 off new customer discount listed on their website. (They did this retrospectively so will appear on my next account statement.)0 -

Having toruble here. too.
CS rep just told me off for being rude, when I pointed out that "no I can not guarantee to be in for the next 3 to 5 days and wait for their collection", and "I was a bit upset to have to pay upwards of 7p per min to speak to her about it... "...
Rude.. they don't know I've started.... !!!!!!!!!!!!!The only place where success comes before work is the dictionary…

Ordered portable DVD and cot blankets for bargain prices, only they tried to deliver and returned the parcel!!! no note through the door or anything. They treated it as a return! I can't reorder it as the catalogue number is no longer valid.....moral of the story is that until you take delivery you may not get it. :-X0

Hope I'm joining the right thread for my question.
Can anyone confirm if they've ever paid empirestores with mastercard?
I purchased two pair of firetrap denims and a pair of trainers in their sale using codes.
Today I received mail from them stating that they cant process order as they only accept Access, Visa and Switch.
On going to my credit card acount online(just now) I found they have actually debited my card for the amount.
Their website also shows the mastercard logo...help!0 -
I received my goods today.prices for both on the delivery notice were not reducedas displayed on the site. One of these items is a mobile. I have only opened the parcel to retrieve the delivery notice. Luckily i haven't paid anything yet. all items are going back via the post office tomorrow. After reading all these threads I want nothing to do with empire stores >:(0

Turns out today they only sent the jacket and refunded the £116 back to credit card, I was a bit miffed as I know it was on sale the day after at the raised price. Trading Standards say they are allowed to do that as long as they've put me back in my original state, (refunded), how annoying. Losing out on a bargain is better than losing out financially though!
I don't know what Trading Standards think they are doing, telling you that. It is complete rubbish.
They are required to ensure that you are in the state you would be IF THEY FULFILLED THE CONTRACT. Refunding you does NOT do that.
If they didn't have the goods, the correct amount would be a refund of what you would have to pay to buy the item elsewhere.
As they DO have the goods, the correct behaviour is to supply them at the agreed price.
Simply refunding isn't good enough.0 -
