Dont give up hope. After reading Royal's post I thought why not. I've lost nothing yet, but I could gain 5 cameras.

Did some research on legislation etc. And bingo I am now the proud owner of 5 cameras - gratis.

I can now revert to plan A and give my nephews/niece their xmas pressies!

Hey guys,
I just called Empire regarding them not giving me the 30%. I said i no longer wanted the items and that i want to return them.
The women on the end said thats fine but she can't take the mobile phone back as its not under their "home approval" thing.

I was arguing with her that under the distant selling regulation i have 7 days cooling and that they mis-priced the items so i should be entitled to refund.

She spoke to supervisor and said for me to send in the emails i got which showed the 30%.

What do and can i do??? I dont want the crappy phone if I dont get the 30%. >:(

I ordered a load of stuff and most of it was out of stock of course. However I did get confirmation of a free jacket that then arrived. With it I of course received the order form, and it looks like the panasonic VCR and Sony VCR will arrive in about a weeks time. the order form stated the 65% discounted price only and not the voucher price.

Checked online though in my account and it looks like the price on there is the 65% one minus another 20%.

So since they sent the jacket already I am guessing that the voucher code was applied to the order. I guess I'll see when the VCRS arrive. If not its no big deal as 30 - 40 quid for one of those VCRs is cheaper than richer sounds for that quality.

By the way I was a new customer and I used my credit card and i ordered about 11.10pm on Sunday night.

I spoke to their customers services a few weeks ago asking how their system worked as their ordering system doesn't ask for cc details. The woman said i can order items and if i don't want them i can just send them back and just pay for the items i've kept.

Will see if this works as i'm keeping the VCR but returning the mobile phone.

Hi, on Monday got confirmation my order was despatched

And they took £116 from credit card. Was very happy even at 116 the Kodak was a great deal.

Turns out today they only sent the jacket and refunded the £116 back to credit card, I was a bit miffed as I know it was on sale the day after at the raised price. Trading Standards say they are allowed to do that as long as they've put me back in my original state, (refunded), how annoying. Losing out on a bargain is better than losing out financially though!

Hey peeps and Robg (i've PMed you),

I contacted trading standards and they advised that if you have difficulty getting refunds (i.e. mobiles etc), under Dist. Sell. Reg, you have 7 working days 'cooling off' period.

Advice was to write a letter and send it RECORDED stating you want to refund and that its within your rights as a consumer under the Consumer Protection Act (Distant Selling Regulations) 2000.

Make sure your within those 7 days!!

I'm soo soo mad with them right now! Gonna get to the bottom of this and i'm gonna win! WIN!!! ARRGGHHH!! >:( ;D

I was being charged 107.75 when my confirmation email showed 59.75. I rang them and asked what was going on and the lady said she didnt understand me. Then she said the item was out of stock and wasnt being delivered anyways. Luckily I have to say on this one...... Ill have to keep an eye out for any transactions on my card though.......

Phoned customer services and they say I'm not allowed to use the £25 off £50 order as I didn't get the code directly sent to me. Just said not to accept them when they arrive and then they'll credit the £50 back to my account. Wish I'd never bothered with this one.

Looks like they've started to send out cancellation of orders letters due to being out of stock. I also ordered early. Oh well.. life's complicated enough and don't need stress of calling and arguing and life starts to get really stupid when one gets involved in all this crud- whats the point? I never used to buy so much crap until I started visiting this site (really and no offense to all the work people put in, sure it's appreciated by people on the look for items or just bored?). Anyway, see how things go for others as I'm not bothered tbh.
