You are dealing with the Law, not Logic. As long as you've followed the recognised procedure it will suffice!0

But the question is, "Why send at all"?? Proof of posting is not proof of receiving and although you can get proof of sending, it means nothing if lost in post.
There are good reasons why you should send it.
If it gets lost in the post its not your concern (as posted already, the courts don't use it for their legal documents, nor do the police when sending NIPS when you have been caught speeding.
If you are so teed off with someone you move on to legal action, why waste more money on them with an unnecessary signed for delivery service for your letter?
I pointed this out just as a moneysaving tip, in contrast to your moneywasting advice!0 -

Lol. I may just save myself a few pennies myself next time, so thanks for the info and I'll certainly no longer suggest sending LBA's "signed for".

That's what I like; the automatic expectation and orientation that you will be!0

With my next two claims being with BMP's (who have started to breach their T&C's) and Mobiles.co.uk (who continuosly ignore their T&C's), the chances of sending a LBA is pretty high.

I have 2 contracts currently with BMP, they have paid all of the cashbacks to date without issues (I have 1 left before the end of the contracts). These contracts end in about a month and I have considered going with BMP for my next 2 contracts, they have an 18 month cashback deal at the moment which I'm interested in. Are E2save the only other dealer offering half decent deals at the moment ? How much of a risk do you all consider BMP right now ?0

There are quite a few alternatives.
E2Save appears currently more efficient than the rest - but you I know are aware of their past practices. Onestopphoneshop has similar offers but are now in fact E2Save.
Phones4/Mobiles2yourdoor are the best by far and away - but no good deals (of our kind) for over a year.
Affordable Mobiles/Beepy seem to be complete sharks and the worst option. All should avoid unless you're desiring a fight from day one.
Buymobilephones have quite recently showed signs of - er - distress. Smaller company = higher risk even of they weren't.
Being able to sue (because a dealer is likely to still be around for the next 18-24 months) is the main safety valve. Therefore cpw is still safer provided you are extremely experienced and knowledgable, follow the groundrules and are prepared to sue if/as soon the dealer chucks the t&c out of the window (remember E2Save doing just that?!?)
Mobiles.co.uk is another cpw clone so "safe" by criteria number one - but they are at the lower end of reliable and honesty.
Nowadays you pays your money and tries to get it back - with a loaded gun ready to aim and fire if you don't. However, there are offers in abundance from a range of dealers. Remembering what happened to most of the small ones a couple of years ago should remain a salutory lesson - as should the way E2Save behaved around that time. Mobiles.co.uk currently shows similar (and increasing) signs of wishing to take on that role within cpw.0 -
Tyler, is it the phone which is important, the contract, or both?? If it's just the sim, I would go for either Mobiles.co.uk or E2save and a 17 months free on 18 months with them is virtually the same as an 18 months free on 18 months via BMP's when taking in account of cashback from say Topcashback - up to £20 extra cashback (+ top-ups if applicable). The reason for this is has been clarified by mj above - more chance that a CPW group company will last the term. I currently have 3 cashback deals and only 1 with BMP's and luckily it's only £20 per month, with my first claim in now.

Hi
To update - I sent a letter (explaining the dates of bills as per post 602) with the June bill (and their e-mail requesting this).
I've had an e-mail today accepting this and payment should be made within 14 days of the 4th October. I've got one claim to come (which by my records was November, but will now be sent after my October bill), and I'll update when payment is (or isn't) received.0 -
Glad it's sorted danmck - but sad that you have to do their job for them. How on earth could they not realise straight away this error??
My 1st claim this time around has been accepted and the pay date is within 14 days from the 5th October - we shall see.
