Thanks mj - maybe it was just a glitch and they are back on track.
Good luck with the other one - not that you would need luck though. ;)

Exactly on time. Also within their own t&c. I've not had any problems with my claims - but I judge on the current experiences of the relatively few people on here who know (as opposed to thinking they know) what they're doing. I have a vast amount of experience to draw on in the case of cpw and phones4u - and cashback deals in general. Just because individuals with (actually quite limited) experience of one dealer have not had any problems and post on here to reassure people it doesn't mean anyone should rush in to any cashback deal or dealer unless they know how to play the game (the advanced version rather than the basic version most rush in to play).
  • how many days after confirmation email? Thanks

I fully agree with that last post mj, it will still take a few more months for me to show these are back on track and adhering to their own T&C's. Still an amber light for this dealer at the moment (though ALL should be taken with care) and my next claim (1st of new contract) goes in next week with BMP's. So by the end of October I should know how these are doing and then may consider another deal from them.
My experience of late is that E2save are paying up and fast and I have a Mobiles.co.uk claim to go in next after BMP's. Sadly due to the lack of decent offers I have no contracts via P4U or their group of dealers.

    14 (thought that was clear!).

This dealer was and always will be in my higher risk category, whether it currently pays on time or not. It is a lot smaller than the big two and therefore less safe in terms of being around to sue. However, there aren't too many games in town and the risk may be worthwhile as long as you cover all other risks (which can be controlled - notmerely by sending claims on time and being organised, as some always suggest!).

September will be the first month in years when I have no claims for myself or others - I'll have more money going out than coming in! Lol!
  • I was wondering if anyone could tell me about their experiences with buymobilephones.net that have not purchased a cash back deal or free gift?

I was thinking about getting a Blackberry 8520 from them on o2 but the reviews on here have made me think twice... But most of the negative reviews seem to be because they have not received cashback...

BMP don't seem to have many 12 month cashback on a 12 month contract deals if any (although I did get a 18 month cahback on 18 month contract deal back in February). In my mind that is what sunk the likes of phoneboxdirect and others - their whole business model relied on people not getting their cashback, whereas BMP seem to assume that people will claim correctly, and make is fairly easy to do so.
  • Hardly any networks now offer 12 month contracts so no dealer can do 12 month free on a 12 month contract. Mobile Affiliates and the others offered easier claims procedures generally. I believe they all went bust around the same time mainly because they were suddenly squeezed by the networks as well as too many people successfully claiming. Any dealer who actually believes that people will claim correctly could not afford to offer the deals in the first place - unless there are few such deals used as loss leaders with inferior phones. Cpw and Phones4u didn't go bust, yet offered excellent cashback deals around the time the others did. The difference was their size (and therefore muscle); that is something singularly missing with Buymobilephones and is why they will always remain higher risk in my book.
