As my contract with T-mobile is due to an end I am heading towards buymobilephones.net. I am about to take HTC Touch HD in orange with insurance. I'd like to ask:
- what is the right procedure in case phone will break - to contact buymobilephones, htc or insurance agency? who should I contact first?
- does anybody know if orange phones from buymobilephones come branded and locked or not?
- do they have harsh credit check?
- is their customer service and repair department any good?
- how long the delivery is taking and what company are they using?
- I've read that for the cashback I need to sent copies of my bills - AFAIK orange can give me paper bills with a charge (about 1,5 for bill) Are electronic copies/prints also valid?
thx in advance0 -

Contact buymobilephones themself for questions on phone breakage procedure
The orange phones are branded and locked on orange, as per the orange website and high street shops.
My phone came next day via Royal mail, camera 2 days after claim form sent off by Royal Mail
Cash back simply requires a signature form of ID and a proof of address form of ID no bills.
Hope this helps0 -
thanks mate.
can you tell me how good (or bad) is their customer service?0 -
I've never ordered a phone through a third-party before, I've always dealt with the providers directly. Perhaps someone can put my fears at rest;
1) Is there any chance of the tariff being raised over the course of the contract. Some of the deals seem very good, I wonder if they might be a little too good, if ya know what I mean
2) If the phone breaks (through fault, not through misuse) who do I deal with; the network provider or buymobilephones. I've never had a phone break on me before.
3) When the contract is up do I cancel the contract/ extend it with buymobilephones or the network provider directly?
Thinking of getting the Nokia 5800 on Tmobile, £25 a month for 200mins/txts and 1gb internet.0 -
I've not had reason to use the customer service so can't comment. The dispatch service is certainly spot on

The tarif and bills come from the provider directly ie. in my case orange. Buymobilephones simply resell the tarif. Bill enquiries go through orange direct. (or which ever network you choose)

Orange generally replace there own phones, but i'm not sure with other networks.

You could upgrade with orange direct, or see what the current best deal is on buymobilephones.net and port your number to that network0 -
Just thought I'd drop a note about my experience. Make of it what you will.
Placed an order on Saturday for the Nokia E51, which was showing as in stock on O2. Rang up on Monday just to make sure everything was going through ok and was told it was and to expect the phone the following day. I was to be sent an email when the order was despatched which never came that night. I rang up the following day (the expected delivery date) and was told they were out of stock(OOS) and had no idea when the phone was coming in. To be fair they did send an email later that day to say it was OOS.
I left it a day and was still dubious because they were still showing the phone as in stock on the website. I even phoned through to the sales line and they confirmed, but then phoning through to Cust Serv I got the OOS message. The order has now been cancelled and I've found the phone elsewhere.
Now this phone is quite scarce at the mo as its being discontinued, but there are obviously some issues with POS stock visibility. Customer Services seemed to deal with my queries, but would have been nice to go that extra mile.0 -
 Well, here's my story.
Bought a Nokia 5800 on orange 24months, £24.99, 500 minutes, unlimited landlines last thursday.
As I have an account with them from before (March 2008, got free PS3), I thought it would be clear sailing. This time, I chose an ipod touch 32gb as a free gift. I even had to pay £89.99 for the phone so that I get the free gift (otherwise phone was free with ipod classic 120gb).
Now, I ring them up on Monday asking why my gift was not dispatched with the phone, even though I had sent an e-mail with the previous order number and new order number (requirement).
Now, I had the most vile creature on the other end that didn't want to hear anything about it. She was american/canadian afterall!.
Anyhow, she told me that the ipod was out of stock and they should be getting some this week. Well still nothing.... will keep you posted.0 -

 My wife used this website to get a new contract phone 18.02.09 with free gift LCD tv. We used their website to order it and everything are in stock. Until we get worried when we received an email saying its out of stock so we wait 2 days, the phone arrived and until right now we are waiting for the gift to come. Spoke to them just saying tv stock will arrive this week. Can this be considered as unlawful due to the reason that their website stating a wrong information to the customer or to the public?0
