    Afternoon!

Becky - hope your bleeding stops soon and every Ok with your scan.

BF - I also told work today, sent an email to big bosses as you can never guarantee when you will see them. Lots of congrats so that was good - will probably see them tomorrow. I want my manager to ask them about pay whilst on mat leave!

    Hypnu - Welcome back!

Triggles - Team BLUE - Congrats

I have been accused of being ADDICTED to this site by my OH!! Sami - he threatens to take my lappy off me and make me sit in the little bedroom on my tod! He was being a right t*t yesterday about my eating habits and said 'if it was in my it would be a superior athlete, in you it's probably going to be a right weakling!. He starts googling 'The importance of eating protein while pregnant' (I don't want to be a body builder!!).

So have had wrists slapped and wait for it...... He's done me a meal plan and is counting how many calories and how much protein I have each day. God help me!
I know I should be glad he is taking an interest but does he need to be so horrible about it!

Oh yeah and it all came about because the oven is knackered so I just had jacket potatoes for my tea!

He is upsetting me by saying things like 'Our baby will be ill and undeveloped because of you'

yesterday I had 2 crumpets with bovril, a massive bowl of rice krispies, 2 medium jacket potatoes with beans and chesse, 2 yoghurts, and a homemade fruit smoothie. Not too bad for me!

Today though, I've had an apple, porridge, beef and onion roll, crisps, a plum and will have sausage, mash, veg and gravy for tea with smoothie for pudding. I will also make an effort to have bowl of cereal before bed just to make him happy - at this rate I'll be the size of a house!!

I'm around the 12 week mark. I'm sure everything will be fine,It's just horrible! Rest...In this house!? Hubby is being a right t**t at the min. I've just told him in no polite manner to fcuk right off. I swear down if he comes in tonight & starts having a go I'll be about ready to kill him. :D Men hey...Don't you just love um!?

    Becky

Just refuse to do stuff! You need to rest. If he still goes on then I'd be tempted to say something like 'are you trying to kill this baby?' because it seems he doesn;t get how important it is that you rest.

I do hardly anything round the house now and my OH is great and does it all for me, bless him.

Yep - if you google I'm sure you'll find the reasons - but it's the same as cots.

My DH thinks it's bad that I eat cereal before I go to bed. But I just tell him at least my belly's got something that will be out in a few weeks! His will still be there!

We're having jacket potato and cheese for tea mmmmmmm. Then I might have my creme egg I've got in the cupboard!

He is good around the house though, he helps more now that I can't do as much as I'm getting huuuge! Got to ask him to take the hoover upstairs for me when he gets back from work, it's too heavy for me.

I honestly don't understand why any of you let your OHs talk to you like that?
Dh would never dream of saying that what I eat would damage our baby! He looks concerned about the amount of sugar I eat now after doc decided I'm at risk for gestational diabetes and he might suggest fruit or healthier options but he'd never say that I'm harming the baby - he's just worrying about me and bubs and trying to be encouraging and supportive.

And if he DID - he'd get told in NO uncertain terms to get his bottom out the door and only come back when his attitude has changed!

Stand up for yourselves girls! Don't let your OHs talk to you like that! It's YOUR bodies and your choices - it's nice if they care but they certainly don't have the last say in anything! :)

you should roll on to your side and sit up using your arms :)

OK - that makes sense and what I think I did instinctively when I got big last time round. Not sure anyone ever told me I had to, or told me off if I didn't though!

Oh my did I have an explosive afternoon..

After I posted at lunchtime, my boss came into my office and sat with me for a while, checking I was okay.. a bit annoying when I wanted to be on my own but I know it's only cos she cares and she understood I was hiding out to avoid the stupid remarks.

A while later, the main culprit of the remarks about my eating and how I'm putting on weight was stood in my office, saying how I wasn't my usual self and asking lots of questions. Through gritted teeth, I answered that I was just feeling a bit low and wanted to be on my own (but she didn't get the hint!). Then she started asking if everything was okay with the baby and when my next appointment was, and then uttered the stupid phrase "oh, then you'll be able to get weighed and see how much weight you've put on!"..

Well, that was it, I lost it! I ranted that I was fed up of stupid people making stupid remarks and how you wouldn't do it to a size 12 or 20, so why go on about me?! Her answer was that it was because I'm "so slim and noone ever expected you to put on weight..." - I'm bl00dy pregnant, for God's sake!! What do they expect?! She persisted going on about "the lovely slim figure used to have" - for crying out loud, I'm still a size 8, just with a "lump at the front" (OH's boss' phrase!).. I've not ballooned ten dress sizes overnight!!

Luckily, my boss heard the tone of my voice and walked in, stood in between me and the other woman and asked me for "the list we were talking about earlier.." (no such list ;)) and the other one scurried off..

I've been on the verge of tears all afternoon, winding myself up about it, and finally burst into tears just as I walked in the front door - lovely way to greet OH! :o I'm still mad about it now.. although have just consoled myself with a cuppa and a Double Decker (and do I give a stuff about the calories in it? No I bl00dy don't!!)

    ...and breathe :) :A

That would wind me up too, elle.

I don't know how assertive or confrontational you feel like being, but I'd be tempted to send an email round to the whole department along the lines of:

"Whilst I appreciate the interest and concern that some of you have shown in my pregnancy, I would welcome the time and space to live my life the way I normally do. The fact that I am now pregnant does not mean that comments about my lifestyle and weight are more acceptable or less personal than they would be if I were not expecting. Please can we all get back to our former working relationships as it will be many weeks/months before I am due to leave on maternity leave"

or something similar, effectively saying "You are all nosey old bags, stop it now" but in polite language!
