Saw the GP this morning and he listened to the heartbeat, felt my tummy said all was fine, then told me off for sitting up using tummy muscles and said I had to stop it or I'll have 'a stomach like a paper bag'. :rotfl:

How do you sit up without using your stomach muscles

    Very confused by that!

I was told by someone at the weekend that my bump was huge, and on being told that I was only 3 months pregnant, she said "By the time you are 9 months, you won't be able to waddle, never mind walk". Which was most reassuring ... or not!

Nicki don't worry - at 7 months people look at me and think i'm ready to pop any day apparently...
And I always get told not to sit up using my tummy muscles - you should roll on to your side and sit up using your arms :)

From lying down you are apparently supposed to roll onto your side and get up from there, not just sit up from lying down like I was doing.

Usually I grab my knee and use that to lever myself up but it is getting harder now I'm 23 weeks. I don;t waddle yet though!

    Hi to everyone.

Sorry not had chance to catch up since Friday. Will try to later. Just got back to work after my first scan. They dated me at 17 sept, i had 19th, so i'm sticking with that (14 wks + 2). Why oh why are they allowed to run late when you are bursting to go to the loo as it is. Can't enjoy seeing your baby, when you feel like your going to explode.

Anyway heartbeat was there and two legs and two arms. Second scan 24th April and glucose test 30 June, will also see consultant then to talk about elective c-section or VBAC.

Well mind has been out at ease for a few weeks, until the next scan. Still debating over the quadruple test.

Do you need to buy new matresses for moses baskets like you do cots????

Good afternoon all! Just a quick pop in - will have to catch up a bit later! But we had our scan today - baby wasn't cooperating for all the measurements, so we have to go in again in 2 wks and finish it up, but so far so good! And it's a boy!

Becky - I hope your bleeding stops and the scan goes well. It's so frightening isn't it? Try and relax (hard I know) and rest until your appointment. I'm not sure how far along you are? But hopefully the scan can reassure you. I found that a home doppler was great for my worried moments - I used it from about 17 weeks I think but it can be hard to find the heartbeat sometimes although the placental noise is easier to locate and just as reassuring.quote]

I'm around the 12 week mark. I'm sure everything will be fine,It's just horrible! Rest...In this house!? Hubby is being a right t**t at the min. I've just told him in no polite manner to fcuk right off. I swear down if he comes in tonight & starts having a go I'll be about ready to kill him. :D Men hey...Don't you just love um!?
