Login failed.
Database query error; string or binary
Data would be truncated.
OK
Does anyone know why?
For CW Client, there are a couple of set-up items you need to do first..
1) Ensure the username and password are typed in properly (they're case sensitive)
2) The Host IP address needs to be changed (see below how to do this)
From http://www.orchid-electronics.com/CWClientQuickStartUG.pdf page 9,
• Enter your Login Name and Password (both case sensitive)
• Click on OK Please note The software will not successfully connect to the platform upon initial installation, possibly taking 10 minutes or more to display the ‘Switching to off-line mode’ Warning box.
• Click on OK
• Click on File and Settings
• Change the Host IP address to read as: http://82.68.122.157/
• Leave the Web Server address as Dial/CWServer.dll/
• Click on OK Fig 3.4
• Click on Connect Now The Web Server box will appear, displaying progress and once connected, the Network Status will read as On-Line.0 -
Could someone please help me.
I pay BT for line rental but have Primus as my CPS. My dialler box is programmed with various service providers but when my calls are routed through the providers where access numbers are used (i.e. Dialaround, Cheapchat, etc) are those calls shown on my Primus bill or, as I suspect, my BT bill?0 -

Unless the access numbers for Dialaround also include the 1280 code for routing back to BT, I would suspect that these calls would show up on your Primus bill.
I may be wrong though.0 -
We really need a general Orchid topic as this question (and many others in the thread) has nothing to do with the discount at all.
Anyway ...
I have bought an Orchid dialler and also signed up to first:telecom. They have very kindly sent me another Orchid dialler (I guess it's just a v2 model).
Can I program my existing dialler to use first:telecom and, if so, does anyone know the number?
I have an NTL line.
Thanks.0 -
Got a strange one here, i manually configured my V4 box and everytime we make a call it works fine, but when we hang up the phone rings, this also happens if we recieve a call and finish the call it rings. Has anyone come across this before?
Thanks0 -
I have had the Orchid ranger phones for a year now and TBH I have found them to be very poor, its difficult to hear the caller the phone now lasts about 15 minutes away from the base station, I have gone on ebay bought a couple of cheap BT studio 2300 saved £40 on the high street price and gone back to BT Option 3 tomorrow. I am sick of changing companies to get free calls when in reality they are not.
At least now with BT I know exactly where I am how much it is each month and how much other calls cost not in the plan.
Other than that Orchid were great.:D0 -

Yep, exactly the same here. It was annoying at first and my wife still hates it but I've sort of got used to it now. I'll give Orchid a call when I get a minute to see if they have an answer.0 -
I would also like to know how to completelly wipe the box of all commands, as sometimes when using 1899 i get 0p per minute then next time i get 1p per minute? also sometimes the programmed local dial code does not work!0

I email them last week and got this email back today -Thank you for your querie. A 2 wire unit can be provided at a cost of £14.99
+ P&P.
This problem is normally caused by a wiring issue at the premesis, and
buying another dialler is a lot
cheaper than getting BT out. I would recommend you retain the orginal
dialler just in case the wiring is ever
re-done...
If you want to order via the web shop please note your requirement in the
additional information box ie: "2 wire unit"
If you would like it pre-programming please email your requirements.
Kind regards
Maggie
I am confused as this is a brand new house and all the wiring has been tested for the certificates, also what is this 2 wire unit? as a V4 dialer is £14.99
Really confused now!0
