Do you mean that you plug the dialler into the master socket and then plug the extension socket into the dialler?

yes - it's a basic extension put in by sky installers - not hardwired.

orchid told me i would need another box - maybe this is because of the power drain on the socket? not sure.

i'm not best pleased about having to buy a second box so i may just leave that socket for the sky box.

i'd be more tempted by the twin DECT (if they offer the 20% discount on those!).

    update:
the orchid seems to work fine with my extension, so i guess not everybody will need to buy two.

If your extension plugs into the dialler I can't see why you would need two boxes. It would just work as if two phones were plugged into the dialler.

Have you got the dialler to work now?

it's all working, yes. i had to do two code resets, as the dialler did not dial in before. the software is now connecting too. just need my BT line to switch over to primus now!
    thanks everyone.
  • I bought my orchid dialler this week and received my 20% discount. Orchid have set it up for me according to my requirements (thank you Heinz for your set up list), had a couple of queries and have contacted them by email and by phone and found them very helpful. I'm impressed by their customer service.

How much is Toby paying you to say that?

Seriously though, they are very good and customer service is second to none :)

:rotfl:It makes such a change to be able to say something nice about a company, TalkTalk should take a leaf out of their books and sort their customer services out.

and there was 40p of calls to 0800 numbers!

Do I need to set the box to prefix 1280 to bypass primus for 0800 calls?
    Seth.
  • Hi, can anyone help please, Orchid set up my dialer for me and seemed to be working fine but this morning I'm getting
the 'zero p per minute' message when I dial a local number. I'm with primus for free weekends and evenings so I shouldn't get any message should I?

The phoneline was accidentally pulled out last night, I have tried forcing dialer to phone home but still getting same message.

    Any ideas please?

Have you normally had it working fine at weekends? Do you have access to CWClient to check your routing table?
