Beware when trying to update/force home the dialler, i had problems with my CW Client, and getting the dialler to accept what was on the updated CW Client, for instance i wanted to use 18185 for mobiles, but the dialler was still going thru' 1899.
I ended up emailling Orchid, who to their credit, sorted the problem out, however when i have checked my BT statement, i have quite a few ringbacks at 5p a shot to Orchid, with myself trying to update the dialler, if the dialler is set up (originally) for 18866 for home calls, why did the call backs appear on the BT bill?
I have set up for Primus, free evening and weekend calls, so my question is, if the dialler has to phone home, what bill does it appear on, 1899 that i have set up for daytime calls, or the CPS which from today is Primus?
This is a slight worry, as i don't really want any "hidden" charges appearing on a bill, that sort of puts down the actual point of the dialler, especially if the product isn't going to use it's own routing table!0 -
It will now appear on your new CPS provider or before you changed on your Bt bill as you discovered.0

Hi all, in new here. I found this forum while searching for the V4 box.
I purchased a unit the other day from gadgets-galore.net for £25-95.
When the unit arrived there was no paper work, no receipt or any advice note.
Ive since emailed several time to ask for information to no avail.
I have also asked Orchild if they can help too... with no reply there either.
Does anyone know who builds the units so that i can access the box from either my PC or net.?
That manual method looks a right pain!
Thanks in advance.

Hi Colin
As the gadgets galore place promise on their website that you can use the CW Client I think you've got them bang to rights. If you cant get hold of them then I'd seriously consider sending the dialler back to them under the Distance Selling Regulations. In the event of any problems with a refund you could do a chargeback. You'd be much better off ordering through Orchid.0 -
Thanks for that but it looks like Orchid are no better either...
This is what happened.
I ordered the unit from off the shop at Gadgets Galore with a carriage option for "Special Delivery" costing £6-00 as i wanted it ASAP.
The Franking label on the packet that came in the post was for £00.77 pence from Orchid Electronics Ltd. Corby.
Even though ive now sent some five emails to both, i still have no access to the CW Client...
Thanks anyway.

If you want to PM me I can host the CW Client software on an FTP server for you to download.

If I plug a V4 dialer into a master socket will all phones connected to extensions off this socket be able to route through the dialer?0

If it's wired internally (as is the case most of the time) then no because the extensions are wired before the actual v4 dialer.
If you have extension sockets via the plug-in method then yes because you could plug in the wire for your extensions into the v4 dialer.
Does that make sense?0 -
Using a V4 dialler box with various providers programmed into it. Our CPS is with Just Dial and not BT as we use Just Dial for free evening and weekend calls. Just been checking my latest Just Dial bill and noticed that some phone calls made to 01/02 numbers on weekdays are on it and I have paid 4p for the phone call but the dialler box is meant to use Call 1899. Is this something that may happen from time to time when Call 1899 is overloaded or should it not happen?0

I had some of these a while ago - One thing Orchid pointed out was:

So that may have been the problem?0
