Anyone know an easy way to select all cellnets to bt?
There are 7 routing codes for Cellnet in the Orchid; 07889/07890/07885/07855/07850/078*1*3/0780*8*9
You could put each of these in its own line in the routing table and then select 'CPS Override' as the D/N/W carrier for each. All your Cellnet calls will then go thru BT.

In my previous post about BT been cheaper for calls to cellnet I may confused other whilst confusing myself.
The rates quoted are for calls to O2.
O2 and BT cellnet are not the same company and have different rates to call from a landline.
I know this for sure as once purchased a BT cellnet phone thinking that cellnet and o2 were the same company. sorry !!
Message to toxteth, are the 7 codes O2 or Bt cellnet? Thanks againOn the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.0 -
I think that you are still confused.
The company BT Cellnet was part of BT, then was renamed as O2, then BT floated it off separately on the Stock Market
There is no longer any connection between BT and O2; the Cellnet brand is no longer in use
... and a takeover bid of O2 by Telefonica of Spain hs just been announced.0 -
...and tbh it doesn't matter what company the routing codes actually are.
For example if you choose one of the seven codes I listed (e.g. 07890) as a line in your routing table and set it to route 'CPS Override' D/N/W, then if you dial a number 07980-xxx xxx, the Orchid will route that number through 1281 - doesn't matter which telecom the number belongs to (it could be a ported number); the dialler is dumb in that respect.

as for the prefixes, there are a vast number for each network

I think you'll be into diminishing returns if you go too far into this; perhaps you could re-route commonly dialled known O2 numbers and leave the rest with 18185, or whatever you said (see I'm confused now as well)0 -
Aren't mobile calls charged as if they were still on their originally allocated network anyway?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

you are right - I forgot for a moment, as the mobile networks themselves charge differently to BT - edited previous postCalls to mobile phones will be charged at the original network operator rate, regardless of whether the number has been transferred to another network

Sorry for joining in late. I assume if you have wired extensions off the main socket you would need to convert these to the plug in type so they will go thru the v4 dialler? If so, any other way round this like hardwiring the extensions into the dialler? Is that possible?0

I am also after some advice.
I have bought a triple pack of Ranger 400s.
If I disconnect the base station from the mains do I have to call home again?
I also have Norton Firewall and having followed the instructions by Orchid if the FW is active I cannot get onto CW. If I disable the FW I can get on.
Can anyone assist me in where the clock is so that I can check my Rangers 400 are syncronised to the clock?
Any help appreciated.
