i know someone who is a cleaner for travelodge and standards of cleanliness are not a priority. she was pretty shocked when she started.

Fairways travel lodge in Inverness - very quiet as it's out of the main centre of town. Near a golf club that does brilliant food that's reasonably priced. Stayed there a couple of times on the sale days & had a nice relaxing stay - always been spotlessly clean & the staff lovely & helpful.

Varies by hotel. Some I've stayed in the hallway carpets obviously haven't been cleaned for weeks. Others like Leeds Colton have always been spotless.

Has anyone any views on the Kings Cross Travelodge? On the website there seems to be 2 ????

Tripadvisor has horrible reviews for both of them but as its just for one night and they will be in the room for such a short time it they will have to put up with it.

Also the one at Euston - kings Cross is their London station so Euston is the bakc up plan

Have stayed at both Kings Cross TLs and Euston. Euston is pretty new, so is fine as far as TLs go. Kings Cross Royal Scot is about a 5 minute walk from KX and is a bit of a dive - lots of large groups, quite raucous, but if you can get it cheap it's perfectly acceptable. the Kings Cross TL is alright - quite old but near to the station.

I have worked for travelodge, the cups never leave the room, so if you drink the tea best give the cup a good rinse out with boiling water!!

Having said that, I think they offer very good value for money and have stayed in a few..

My favourite is Caernarfon, it is very new, offered everything it needed to and is directly opposite a very large Morrisons.

I always wash my own cup anyway after seeing some show on the TV about cleaning hotels. I know it's the TV for you but still something I like to do.

  • I have not stayed at the worthing one but its in a fabby location, right on the beach and it has just opened.

We stayed at Worthing Seafront Travelodge on Christmas Eve 2011 - for £15! Yes, fab location. Had a huge family room. Their cafe was open on Christmas Day for all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast, inc cooked breakfast, for £7.50. They have a small car park but parking right outside on the sea front is free overnight. Recommended. :)
  • I agree although the bar wasn't the greatest :rotfl:

Magic location for tourists and even locals looking for a night out in Edinburgh but are maybe a bit too far out for taxi journeys home.
Which one is the Edinburgh Central one you are talking about please - the one at St Mary's Street?
