We have sale rooms for four days at Travelodge - Barcelona Hospitalet and flight tickets with air miles. :j Now we hope with some help from fellow 'Travelodgers' to make the most of our first trip abroad as a couple for a very long time and extend the savings to a hat trick as well!
We can use information about the hotel, but especially need information about:
 Transportation From the Airport - Public transportation in and around the hotel area - Places to eat locally - will help.
 As Barcelona is a new adventure for us some tips from those in the know on what to see would be super as well. (We're both reasonably fit so walking is an option as is cycling if hire price is low enough.)
Thanks so much for all your help - I'll post a review with useful information when we get back to help others plan their trip for the next T'lodge room sale in Spain. :T0 -

Bed uncomfortable, room never warmed up and was smelly and unkempt. Great way to start out holidays before we flew abroad..NOT!!!0

We just stayed one night at the Travelodge in Dunkirk, Kent close to Canterbury. Quite enjoyed the setting, The TL is build in some woods just off the A2. Quiet despite the proximity to the busy road. Two minutes walk from a service station and a Little Chef, in case you need a snack or a newspaper. Recommendable, especially if you get a room for a tenner:D0

In October I stayed in the Halykn travelodge in North Wales, to be honest with you, it was rather dated especially the bathroom and bit grubby in certain corners, but I had a good nights sleep which is all that matters. But I only paid £19 for it, and I wouldn't recommend paying full price. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

I stayed their last week for £25 (last minute booking). Smell of damp in the corridor directly behind reception but room OK and noisy pumps in the small plant room adjacent to room 22, I was over the hall so could not hear them in the room. OK for the price but not worth full price.
I also stated in the Cardiff West one last week for several nights, very run down and grubby public areas, room OK up to fairly recent TL standards with flat TV but bathroom untouched from previous owners and still in the 80's and urgently in need of refurbishment, mould etc in bathroom, peeling mastics, ugh!0 -
I stayed in room 17, but I didn't notice the smell of damp in the hallway, it was definetely better than the accomadation that I stayed in on the way over as the smell of damp was overpowering! (but I won't go into that one as it wasn't a travelodge). Like I say, I wasn't the best travelodge I have stayed in but it wasn't that bad. I don't pay £19 and expect something amazing
I slept well and didn't hear the traffic as much as I thought I would, which was the most important thing.
As whom I travelled with had a seperate room, I had a nosey around the room, and I think the room I got (17, theres was 18) was better. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0 -
Hubby and I have stayed at several travelodges over the last few years and i have a major gripe with all of them.. Why oh Why don't they have mattress protecter on the beds.. it makes me shudder when looking at the sheets to see just the bottom sheet and nothing else between you and the mattress. surely good housekeeping practice includes the nee:(:(d to freshen up the bedding regularly. I have written to Travelodge voicing my concerns but never received a reply...0
