We Have just returned from the TL in Atlantic Wharf (Cardiff Bay). Lovely new looking hotel, with really friendly staff. Got megabus from Victoria, London (£4 return each) to Cardiff and then got the circular route baycar no 6 bus from outside the Cardiff Hilton, which is just beside where the coach dropped off, to the bay. The bus stops across the road from the TL and I saw the train was a few minutes walk away also. It is beside the Red Dragon centre which has bowling(pre-booked 1p half term bowling each day), lots of restaurants, a cinema, DR Who exhibition, radio station. There is a casino and I saw TL customers get their first drink free it said on the window. It is a 5 min walk to the bay area, which has a theatre and lots of lovely bayside restaurants. There is a 1950s style bayside diner which hubby loved. There are a couple of banks and a Tescos. Also it had stalls in the street selling cakes and Jams, crafts and books mainly. We went on a boat trip around the bay, which lasted 30 mins and was £4 return per adult and £2 per child. There was a lighthouse boat that you could walk around for free and had a nice cafe onboard. Also free entry is the Norwegean church at the bay and the telescope shaped centre of information. We got the bus to Cardiff (we later found out it would have been about a 25 min walk) and visited the castle and old fashioned indoor market and victorian type alleyway shops. The breakfast was good at the TL, as constantly replacing hot food items and nice comfy sofas to drink coffee.0

We had a fantastic stay in St Austell. What with the Eden project, fantastic beaches and walks we were very happy. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was supurb.0

We had a lovely stay at ASHBOURNE as were going to ALTON TOWERS (using vouchers) and we booked 3 family room for 1 night, its a new build, clean great staff. Would def stay again.
There is a pub being built on site, we traveled into ashboure centre to get food.0 -
Just returned from 3 nights at Durham - was a little concerned having read reviews but thought it great. Lovely position just outside the city centre, just a small drive to BHS for breakfast and everything else on your doorstep. Thoroughly recommended.I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

Stayed Friday night in the Euston one in London.
Very clean and new looking rooms. Friendly reception staff.
The first room I was given overlooked the main road and was by a group of ladies on a hen night so I asked for a room at the back and that was miles quieter.
The general areas and corridors were like an oven but the rooms have air con - that seems to turn off after 10 mins - so it did get stuffy overnight (but has been so mild this week) Other guests were really slamming the doors overnight as they came in which is annoying - glad I took earplugs!
I do like this Travelodge - rooms are clean and Its a fab location (and felt safe) for transport and has M&S for food supplies open 6am til 11.30pm.
Jus wish Travelodge would store luggage - room was £19 in the sale yet cost me £10 early check in at 12 to leave my bags and £8 next day at Euston:rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

The travel lodge in harrogate is the best i have stayed in. It is perfectly situated for all of harrogates offerings. The family room was clean and large, i think the builing was rather new. Just behind it there is a large family pub that does delish grub for next to nothing. You can walk to the baths(see their website as they often have offers), betty's tearooms and all the grand old bulidings. You are maybe 10 mins from the yorkshire show ground where all the events and antique fairs are held.
Location was good but I had the noisiest room in the world - disturbed by people leaving the pub until about 2am and then at 5am the bottle banks were emptied!!0 -
I've stayed in the Liverpool Docks and Haydock lodges a few years back and was more than happy.
Birmingham Hilton Park has been fine for business a few times too.
More recently, I usually manage to book one or two nights and just take a chance I will be free when that month comes around.
Lymm is pretty decent even though on a service station.Great for a two day Trafford Centre/Ikea jaunt....
Sheffield Central was fine, views not cracking but you are in a dip surrounded by tall buildings so what can you expect! Couldn't get there til late so found free on-street parking round the back and left before the parking gremlins were out and about at 8am.
I've got Kendal and Manchester booked for ear;y next year but thanks for all the tips and I'm going to take a shot at York, Leeds, Leamington, Covent Garden inthe morning.
Real target is a few nights in Liverpool central so I can friends over to see my home town. You will be close enough to Lime St train station and the coach station if you come here and evrything is close enough to walk. Matthew St minutes away, as is the new Liverpool One shopping complex, ferries 10 minutes walk. Abert dock a little over 10 minutes.
There some on street parking opposite the door if you park after 6 and scarper before 8am too.
The price is really brilliant and if the sheets are ever dirty (haven't been yet) I'll ask for more!
I'm always recommending them but will have to stop or I'll never get one for myself!
